We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Senior Backend Engineer with 5+ years of experience building scalable backend services, who thrives in cross-functional environments and knows how to drive technical excellence, product impact, and engineering efficiency through clean architecture, high-quality code, and strong execution.
About the Job
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Blossom, you will design, build, and optimize backend services that power our digital banking ecosystem. You’ll work with Node.js or Python, implement scalable architectures, and integrate with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL using ORM frameworks. A key part of the role involves leveraging AI-assisted coding tools—such as Cloud Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar—to accelerate development, improve code quality, and enhance engineering productivity. Experience with bytecode generation or advanced AI-powered coding techniques is highly desirable and will set you apart.
You will collaborate closely with frontend teams, product, and design, contribute to internal libraries and shared services, and help define best practices for our engineering organization. Experience with fintech or online banking will help you adapt quickly to the business logic and compliance needs of the industry.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of professional backend development experience.
Proven expertise using AI-assisted coding tools (Cloud Code, Copilot, Cursor, etc.).
Experience with bytecoding or AI-driven code generation is highly desirable.
Strong proficiency in Node.js or Python.
Experience building scalable backend architectures and distributed systems.
Familiarity with Nest.js is a plus (but not required).
Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and ORM frameworks.
Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.
Experience with AWS services (Lambda, RDS, SQS, DynamoDB, or similar).
