HYBRID – If you reside within 50 miles of Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, and Miramar, FL this role is hybrid, requiring office presence three days a week (Tue, Wed, Thu), with the rest of the workweek spent working from home.
REMOTE – If you live over 50 miles from Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, and Miramar, FL, this role is remote. However, occasional office visits may be required based on business needs, with advance communication for such requests.
Job Description
Opportunity at a Glance This position significantly contributes to the mission of Walden University’s Office of Institutional Effectiveness: To provide university leaders and external partners with accurate and reliable data, services, and insights to facilitate data-informed decision-making and promote university effectiveness to support continuous improvement. To that end, this individual will assist academic leadership with researching objectives, analyzing statistical data, and creating reports or visuals that best communicate results; act as a liaison to other data owning and using departments; assist in data analysis, processing and modeling. Candidates must have a strong commitment to making an impact, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Work with institutional research data using a modern toolkit including Google BigQuery (SQL) and PowerBI (DAX)
Proactively generate ideas for improvement in reporting as well as new ways of looking at information
Contribute as a team member in proactively developing methods for capturing, storing, & reporting critical student, faculty, and alumni metrics
Assist with management of departmental data structure and reporting workflow
Work with internal clients to spec out and execute customization of existing reports or creation of new reports
Fulfill a variety of ad hoc data requests for internal clients
Produce analytical narratives of key findings, including actionable recommendations
Work with counterparts in the organization to resolve data integrity issues and develop standards and best practices
Evaluate and report on data integrity
Communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences
Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Masters degree in Higher Education, Statistics, Data Science, Information Systems or related quantitative discipline. Required
5+ years of directly related experience, with a track record of growth and success in a higher education environment Required.
Demonstrated data analysis and data visualization skills Required
Demonstrated ability in research methods and statistical analysis preferably within the social sciences Required
Proficient with the Microsoft products (Excel, Access, SharePoint) Required
Proven, demonstratable proficiency with relational databases or cloud data structure (Googe Cloud Platform (BigQuery) SQL Required
Experience with PowerBI (DAX), Tableau, or other data visualization tool Required
Familiarity with Banner, Salesforce, Canvas, and Brightspace a plus Preferred
Familiarity with other research tools (Qualtrics, R, SPSS, etc.) Preferred
Additional Information
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $47,766.34 and $86,253.75. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
