About the team and the role:  TCGplayer connects hobbyists and hobby businesses to communities. We relentlessly improve the exchange of things and thoughts that fuel passions, providing the most compelling destination and tools for collectible card game enthusiasts and professional sellers! TCGplayer, now a part of eBay, promotes and drives growth of our products and services by connecting a global community of millions of buyers with tens of thousands of retailers in a $25B global collectible hobby market.

Our Risk Intelligence / Identity and Access Management team is responsible for building and maintaining critical systems that safeguard our company’s hobbyists, sellers, operations, and data. This team’s charter is to protect access to the company’s systems and ensure our internal and external users have secure and seamless access to the services needed.

As the Software Engineering Manager for the Risk Intelligence / Identity and Access Management team, you will lead a team of engineers that focus on designing and delivering resilient, high-performance services and tools that protect the company’s applications and data.  You will be responsible for driving the vision, guiding technical roadmaps, managing engineering workflows, and collaborating closely with product management, security, and IT teams to deliver scalable software solutions that support the company’s strategic objectives in risk intelligence, identity, and access management. What you will accomplish:

  • Lead TCGplayer through a major phase of growth as we expand internationally and delight across the globe

  • Provide leadership and management to software engineers to create scalable risk and access management solutions for the TCGplayer platform

  • Assist in the development of technical strategies and business decisions by providing insights from risk intelligence, identity, and access management perspectives

  • Partner with Product Management, Security, Compliance, and other stakeholders to define the vision, strategy and requirements for risk and IAM solutions

  • Coordinate with fellow Engineering Managers and Project Managers to manage inter-team dependencies and ensure the on-time delivery of software

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, growth, and collaboration, supporting team members in professional development and innovation  

What you will bring: 

  • 8 or more years of software development experience on large-scale, high-volume, technical systems

  • 3 or more years of experience in a people management role with Software Engineering

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in computer science, information technology or a related field

  • Proven success designing, building, and maintaining large-scale identity and access management (IAM) systems

  • Experience with risk intelligence, identity and access management, and cybersecurity

  • Proven success providing project management artifacts in an agile environment
