Software Engineering Manager - Ads Reporting
The Ads Reporting team is poised to rapidly innovate and grow, providing critical insights and foundational data for advertisers on Reddit. This team manages two distinct but complementary core workstreams: Reporting Foundations and Proactive Reporting. The Reporting Foundations workstream focuses on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and data correctness of the Ads Reporting platform, ensuring technical scalability, enhancing monitoring, and building robust data pipelines for the fast-growing ads business. Meanwhile, the Proactive Reporting workstream is dedicated to delivering actionable recommendations and deeper insights to advertisers via Ads Manager, aiming to communicate Reddit's value and empower advertisers to reach their full potential on the platform. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead both of these crucial work streams, shaping the future of the Reddit Ads platform.
Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and grow a team of full stack product and backend engineers
Collaborate with product management and design functions to discover and build new ways to communicate the value of Reddit to our users, and be a thought leader in this process.
Maintain and enhance the team culture of fast iteration, experimentation, and collaboration.
Ensure the long term success of both the product and the growth of our people.
Participate in and be the ultimate owner of the full development cycle: product ideation, design, development, QA, experimentation, analysis, and launch. You’ll be brainstorming, giving feedback on design docs, product specs and mocks, and generally helping out wherever is needed.
Collaborate with multiple teams across the Ads org to maintain and increase advertisers’ trust on Reddit, and optimize their success on the platform
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
Engineering leadership experience working across multiple teams
5+ years of experience in software engineering; experience developing large scale customer-facing reporting solutions is highly desirable
Experience coordinating large-scale, cross-functional efforts that span different teams, and driving alignment
Experience working with multiple teams in product & design
Knowledge of full stack product development practices
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on advertiser platform or related B2B reporting products
Familiarity with team’s tech stack: Python, golang, React, Airflow, Druid
Technologies include
Languages: Typescript, Go, Python
Frameworks: React, Thrift, Baseplate, Airflow
Datastores: Postgres, Druid, Redis, BigQuery
Tools: Kubernetes, Argo, Docker
