The Role

We're hiring a contract software engineer to build the MVP of a proprietary influencer intelligence platform for an established agency in the creator and brand partnerships space.

This is a fixed-scope, fixed-budget engagement. You'll be the sole engineer working directly with the project lead (who has deep product and AI experience). We need someone who can take a clear brief, recommend the right technical approach, and ship a working product — fast. We expect you to be building with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) as a core part of your workflow. That's how we're scoping an ambitious MVP at this budget.

What You're Building

A two-tier platform that:

  • Integrates with influencer data APIs (e.g. Upfluence, Mod Dash, HypeAuditor) to pull creator profiles, audience data, and engagement metrics
  • Builds a proprietary database layer on top — storing custom metadata, internal creator information, and campaign data that goes beyond what any single API provides
  • Supports core operational workflows including creator search and filtering, campaign tracking, content delivery monitoring, creator blacklisting, and basic reporting
  • Grows over time — the architecture needs to support adding new creators, new data points, and new features in future phases

This is Phase 1. The platform will evolve, but right now we need a solid, functional foundation.

What We're Looking For

  • Active user of AI-assisted development tools — Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent. This isn't a nice-to-have — it's how you'll move at the speed this project requires
  • Proven experience building API integrations and working with third-party data sources
  • Track record of shipping MVPs or v1 products on tight timelines and budgets
  • Strong opinions (loosely held) on the right stack for this type of project — we're open on technology, and want you to recommend the best approach
  • Comfortable working fully remote and async with weekly check-ins
  • Clear communicator who can explain technical decisions in plain English
  • Experience with database design and data modelling
  • Bonus: familiarity with the influencer/creator economy, social media APIs, or marketing tech

What This Isn't (And What It Could Become)

  • This is not a full-time role or an ongoing retainer
  • This is not a greenfield research project — we need a working product
  • This is not a redesign of existing tools — we're building something new from scratch

That said, this platform has a multi-phase roadmap and we're actively building a roster of skilled engineers for future projects. If you deliver well on the MVP, there's a strong chance of continued work as the product evolves.

Budget & Terms

  • Budget: up to $13,500 USD for the MVP build — scoped to deliverables, not hours. If you ship it faster, the project wraps sooner
  • Fully remote, async working (weekly syncs with the project lead)
  • Timeline: MVP delivered within 8 weeks max — faster is better
  • You will own none of the IP — all work product belongs to the client

How to Apply

Please complete our short application form: https://chloedigital.typeform.com/to/S4dFX8Hx

We're reviewing applications on a rolling basis. If your experience is a strong fit, we'll schedule a 20-minute call to discuss the project in more detail.
