Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

We launched a new ad-supported tier in November 2022 to offer our members more choice in how they consume their content. Our new tier allows us to attract new members at a lower price point while also creating a compelling path for advertisers to reach deeply engaged audiences.

Our Team

The Netflix Ads Identity, Signals and Audiences team is committed to providing a relevant and engaging advertising experience that prioritizes member privacy. Our mission is to maintain accurate member identities and curate valuable Signals and Audiences ensuring that ads are both engaging and compliant with consumer privacy choices and regional regulations.

The Role

As a Software Engineer on the Ads Identity, Signals and Audiences team, you will develop client-side Software Development Kits (SDKs) to enable the collection of consented Advertiser user engagements occurring on their properties. You will develop state of the art JavaScript capabilities that capture key interactions such as Page Views, Product Discovery, and down funnel events such as Add to Cart, Checkout and Purchase while honoring user consent choices and regional privacy regulations. You will collaborate with a team of talented professionals who are deeply passionate about ads technology and privacy, fostering a culture that values creativity, diversity, and continuous learning.

Skills & experience we’re seeking:

  • Advertiser SDK/Tag Development - Proven track record in developing, deploying, and maintaining advertising pixels, SDKs, or tag management systems.

  • JavaScript Mastery - Advanced knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), including asynchronous patterns, module bundling, and performance optimization.

  • CMP Integration - Experience working with Consent Management Platforms (e.g., OneTrust, TrustArc) and their APIs.

  • Tag Management System Integration - Demonstrated experience integrating with leading tag management systems such as Google Tag Manager (GTM), Tealium iQ, Adobe Launch, or Segment. Ability to deploy, configure, and troubleshoot custom tags, triggers, and data layers, ensuring robust and accurate data collection across complex web environments.

  • Browser Expertise - Deep understanding of browser environments (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox), their APIs, and common limitations for client-side scripts.

  • Security Awareness - Strong grasp of JavaScript security threats and mitigation strategies.

  • Privacy Compliance - Familiarity with privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and their technical implications on web event collection pixels.

  • Testing & Debugging - proficiency with browser developer tools, debugging, and automated testing for web scripts.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.

  • Knowledge of the ad tech and advertising landscape, including programmatic advertising and digital marketing trends.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience building server-to-server Conversion APIs

  • Experience working in the CTV space and knowledge of its unique constraints.
