About your Team

As part of Teachable’s Integrated Solutions team, you will focus on reducing creators’ time spent on manual tasks and enhancing platform functionality through third-party tools, automation, and improvements in our Authentication and Public API. In this role, you’ll have a direct impact on enabling the Teachable platform to seamlessly integrate with our creators’ business tools, allowing them to spend more time on what matters.

What is the role?

As a Software Engineer II (Analyst), you will be responsible for writing secure, scalable, and reusable code while proactively identifying improvements in the codebase. You’ll take ownership of our microservices, ensuring quality and using metrics to assess production behavior. You’ll collaborate effectively with teammates and product teams, contribute to planning and prioritization, document work, and support a positive team culture.. You will work closely with cross-functional teams from Hotmart and Teachable to evolve our code, as well as collaborate with product managers, designers and other developers.

In this position, you will work remotely with Teachable’s US based teams as well as Hotmart employees based in Belo Horizonte and São Paulo. We are hiring talented engineers in Brazil.

In this role, you'll:

  • Collaborate with Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and QA engineers to build high-quality products with third-party integrations

  • Contribute to the technical design and architecture of services, databases and applications across the organization

  • Execute on our product development roadmap to drive the progression of our stack and our team at large

  • Write simple, clean, high-quality, well-tested software that delivers user value

  • Seek out ways to bring in new perspectives to our design, coding and testing best practices as well as supporting review processes (i.e. design, code, postmortem)

  • Contribute and shape the overall culture and collaboration practices of the team

  • Quickly understand documentation and utilize testing techniques, such as unit testing, integration testing, and stress testing, to ensure high-quality code

  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, such as providing regular status updates and actively seeking feedback

  • Adapt to roadblocks and proactively resolve issues, such as debugging and troubleshooting

  • Align work with customer value by using feedback to prioritize features

  • Balance priorities and seek guidance when needed to make informed decisions

What You'll Bring:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience building production web applications in an agile, startup environment.

  • Proficiency in using modern programming languages (Golang, Ruby, etc.) in a production environment in a backend or fullstack capacity

  • Interest in learning or exposure to event-based architecture

  • Team player mentality: highly collaborative, documentation-focused and recognizing how to balance asynchronous communications and virtual meetings

  • A passion for solving complex technical problems in both new and legacy codebases.

  • A mindset of leaving the codebase better than how you found it.

  • Experience collaborating with multiple team members with varying experience levels to design and implement technical projects.

  • Ability to work and problem-solve independently.

  • A humble, collaborative, customer-focused, and highly curious approach to problem-solving.

Additional Details:

At Teachable, we are committed to providing fair and competitive pay (using market data to inform our pay bands), rewarding high performance, and ensuring all employees have the opportunity and ability to impact Teachable’s overall company value. Salaries will be reviewed at regular intervals throughout the year, typically following performance review cycles currently conducted bi-annually or in conjunction with a promotion.
