Position Summary
The Senior Technical Project Manager position is part of our Managed Services team managing simple and complex external/customer facing technical projects. Projects may include managing technical consulting requests, new application deployments, application upgrades, SSO implementations, and cloud system migrations. Project Managers are responsible for working closely with the customer and internal resources to develop a project timeline and ensure the projects stay within scope, on schedule and within budget.
Essential Tasks
Prepare full project plan that will account for all tasks and resources required to deliver the project.
Schedule resources and identify all milestones that will be required to complete the project, including tasks that are to be completed by the customer.
Effectively negotiate timelines with the customer
Coordinate and manage project planning and execution for multiple projects.
Provide a timely response to customer questions.
Effectively manage and communicate out information on multiple projects.
Ensure that Change Management controls are in place to stay within project scope.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent related experience
Strong understanding of technical vernacular and technical best practices
7+ years project management experience including managing technical customer facing projects from start to finish, preferably in higher education
Experience with Jira or other project management tool
Experience with SmartSheet or other project collaboration tool
Excellent communication skills, written and oral
The pay range for this position is $60,000-$83,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, geographic location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus in addition to a full range of benefits. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed.
