Gradient AI:

Gradient AI is revolutionizing Group Health and P&C insurance with AI-powered solutions that help insurers predict risk more accurately, improve profitability, and automate underwriting and claims. Our SaaS platform taps into one of the industry’s largest data lakes—tens of millions of policies and claims—to deliver deep, actionable insights. Trusted by leading carriers, MGAs, TPAs, and self-insured employers, Gradient AI has grown rapidly since our founding in 2018. Backed by $56M in Series C funding, we're scaling fast—and it's an exciting time to join the team.

About the Role:

We’re seeking a highly organized Senior Technical Product Owner (TPO) to help deliver complex, data-driven products. Partnering with the Group Product Manager, the TPO will turn strategic vision into execution across platforms and initiatives.

This role leads planning, execution, and delivery for our health analytics products and supporting platform—spanning data pipelines, core infrastructure, predictive models, and user dashboards. They will manage cross-functional efforts to integrate health data, enhance the analytics platform, and deliver new capabilities in underwriting, cost forecasting, and population health. This is a fully remote opportunity.

How you will make an impact:

Execution & Delivery

  • Translate product strategy and roadmap themes into detailed epics, user stories, and delivery plans.

  • Manage sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, and cross-team coordination.

  • Identify and mitigate technical risks and delivery blockers.

  • Track progress across engineering and data teams, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

  • Support product launches, feature rollouts, and customer migrations—managing timelines, QA, and stakeholder communications.

Requirements & Technical Scoping

  • Collaborate with the Group PM and stakeholders to define clear, actionable technical requirements.

  • Own documentation for technical product specs, infrastructure updates, data integrations, and model deployment workflows.

  • Ensure requirements reflect scalability, reliability, and usability needs.

Platform & Data Integration

  • Partner with data engineering, data science, software, and clinical informatics teams to ensure reliable ingestion, transformation, and integration of data between systems

  • Define and enforce data quality, governance, and release management processes across the health platform.

  • Collaborate on any API and system integrations with external partners.

Metrics & Reporting

  • In collaboration with the Group PM, establish and track KPIs for delivery velocity, platform reliability, and data quality.

  • Help drive continuous improvement in engineering execution and delivery predictability.

  • Maintain clear documentation and communicate progress through reporting, briefings, and retrospectives.

Skills needed to succeed:

  • 5+ years of experience in technical product ownership, program management, or engineering project management, preferably within healthcare data/analytics platforms.

  • Strong technical background; ability to work closely with engineers on architecture, data pipelines, and APIs.

  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and product development lifecycle.

  • Experience working with data platforms and ML/analytics products.

  • Proven success leading and managing cross-team dependencies across product, engineering, and data science.

  • Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, GitHub, and data documentation platforms.

  • Experience with cloud data environments (AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar) and modern CI/CD or data ops practices.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of data orchestration tools like (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, etc.) a plus.

  • Experience with SQL and Python a plus.

  • Exposure to ML/AI productization, risk scoring models, or predictive analytics platforms.

  • Experience in health analytics, underwriting, or population health products a plus.

  • Prior work in regulated health data environments (HIPAA, de-identification, SOC 2) a plus.

What We Offer:

  • A fun, team-oriented startup culture.

  • Generous stock options - we all get to own a piece of what we’re building.

  • Unlimited vacation days.

  • Flexible schedule that supports working from home.

  • Full benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid paternal leave, and more.

  • Ample opportunities to learn and take on new responsibilities.

We are an equal opportunity employer.

Salary Range: $130,000-175,000 base salary annually.  This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity grant, and a comprehensive benefits package. In accordance with the Massachusetts Pay Transparency Law, we are providing a good-faith salary range for this position at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on the level at which the candidate is hired, as well as their experience, skills, qualifications, and location. Compensation may grow over time through merit-based increases, promotions, and company-wide adjustments. If your salary expectations fall outside this range, we still encourage you to apply so we can have a conversation.
