About the job
Twilio is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our International Tax team in Ireland. This position works as part of a global specialist International Tax Team. This role is designed for a technically strong tax professional who is also tech-forward. You will manage the traditional pillars of Irish and International Tax compliance, but you will be empowered to use AI and data automation tools to streamline workflows, reduce manual reconciliations, and focus on high-value strategic analysis. You will be a key player in ensuring our international entities stay compliant while helping the team scale during a period of significant growth and transformation.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
Work as part of the International Tax team gathering, validating and compiling quantitative and qualitative tax information from multiple internal and/or external sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Compliance & Statutory Reporting: Own the end-to-end preparation and filing of international corporate income tax returns and manage the tax components of local statutory financial statements and audits.
Tax Provisioning (ASC 740): Assist with quarterly and annual global tax provisions for international entities, focusing on improving the accuracy of US GAAP to local GAAP reconciliations.
Modernized Research: Utilize AI-driven research tools to monitor and summarize complex legislative changes (such as Pillar Two or local incentives) and draft technical memos.
Process Automation: Identify opportunities to use low-code tools (such as Power Query) or AI assistants to automate data collection from ERPs (Oracle/NetSuite), reducing manual workpaper preparation.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as a bridge between Tax and Finance, ensuring that tax data is clean, accessible, and ready for reporting.
Assist in monitoring country-level tax law updates, performing tax research, interpreting changes, and documenting the Company's tax positions.
Support the development and maintenance of strong internal controls and governance over international income tax compliance and reporting.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the international tax function, championing technology and automation to drive efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications
Twilio values diverse experiences from all kinds of industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!
Required:
4+ years of tax experience in a Big 4 firm or a multinational corporate tax department. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law. Professional tax qualification (AITI/CTA) or Accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA) is highly preferred.
Tech-forward mindset: experience using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT/Claude) for research or data tools (Power Query/Alteryx) for data clean-up is a strong advantage.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with an interest in moving from manual spreadsheets toward automated pipelines.
Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion, or similar ERP/EPM systems.
Desired:
Ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly to stakeholders in a fast-paced tech environment.
Ability to influence and build effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.
Familiarity with Pillar Two / BEPS developments and their compliance implications.
A desire to maintain and enhance Twilio's unique culture and an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.
