Want to leverage our 50 million monthly viewers to help grow your personal brand? We’re looking for an influential marketing expert to take our media properties to the next level.

The HubSpot Website Blog is hiring a senior-level writer with the ability to write and edit multiple posts a week. This person is an experienced marketing professional and writer who dabbles in basic coding languages. Your writing must balance the ever-evolving requirements of the SERPs (you could write a book on E-E-A-T) with the snappy, journalistic integrity of The Hustle (our sister newsletter).

We’re looking for an experienced writer who is passionate about thorough research (we know you exist out there) and fascinated by tracking trends in web design, web development, and website optimization. They have a knack for writing about technical subject matter in an accessible way (software degree not required) and injecting personality into their blog posts.

This person will also play a role in developing and contributing to our world-class blog strategy, executing plays that help our technical content reach a wider audience.

If you want to better your craft, thrive in an environment of constant change, and contribute positively to team culture by being a supportive and empathetic colleague, this might just be the role for you.

In this role, you will:

  • Write blog content that teaches people how to build, grow, and maintain websites.

  • Place your byline on blog posts that are read by millions.

  • Execute our historical optimization strategy.

  • Develop and execute plays to grow the Website Blog — and HubSpot Media publications as a whole.

  • Conduct in-depth research and interview industry experts on website topics including web design, CMS platforms, UX, and more.

  • Stay abreast of industry shifts, emerging trends, and new technology.

  • Foster harmonious working relationships both on and off the blog team, and seek opportunities to collaborate across departments.

We are looking for people who have:

  • Exceptional writing skills. You can quickly get up to speed and produce smart, grabby content on unfamiliar, often technical subject matter.

  • Experience working for an online publication, answering to an editor, and collaborating with other writers.

  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines. (Our publishing cadence requires strong time management skills.)

  • Experience owning one or more strategic programs on their team.

  • A willingness to consistently bring new ideas and implement them to improve processes or outcomes.

  • An ability to “go where the needs are” — whether that’s writing, editing, or strategizing. You are obsessed with driving results and flexible in how you get there.

  • Motivation to teach themselves new things and put in the research time to become an authority on complex topics.

  • An open mind. You’re responsive to feedback, can work with a team of writers, and can adapt their writing based on insights provided by our SEO team.

  • Optimism and empathy. You’re talented but humble and understand the importance of playing well with others to achieve mutual goals.

Nice-to-haves, but not required:

  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS

  • An understanding of SEO and keyword research

  • A marketing generalist background
