Senior Software Engineer I – Flywheel Delight
At HubSpot, we’re on a mission to help millions of organizations grow better. Our platform is used by businesses worldwide to manage their marketing, sales, service, and operations — and under the hood, our product is built to be flexible, secure, and empowering for both our customers and our own engineering teams. We believe in autonomy, curiosity, and building a workplace where everyone can thrive .
Meet the Team: CS on Service Hub – Flywheel Group
The Flywheel Group supports HubSpot’s vision to build a product that powers its own teams — “HubSpot runs on HubSpot.” This team builds the core experience that enables Customer Success and Customer Service reps to operate efficiently within the HubSpot platform.
Our work focuses on creating the next generation of rep experiences:
A central, intelligent interface that supports reps with contextual data and actionable alerts
Tools that help identify high-impact opportunities and drive consistent execution
AI-powered experiences to eliminate repetitive tasks and enhance workflows
The features built by this team don’t just empower HubSpot’s internal teams — they often evolve into externally available functionality for our customers, especially as we grow upmarket.
What’s the day-to-day like?
End-to-end ownership of new features, often initiated by engineers themselves
Collaborating closely with CS reps to understand needs and iterate rapidly
Building backend systems (Java required), while contributing across the stack when needed (React experience preferred)
Partnering with data scientists to surface insights and build intelligence into workflows
Embracing a “ship to learn” mindset — using experimentation and feedback to guide development
Operating in a high-trust, high-autonomy environment where engineers are expected to take initiative
You may be a great fit if you:
Have strong backend experience and a willingness to work across the stack
Think like an owner and love learning about the business
Care deeply about the impact of what you’re building and the problems you’re solving
Are comfortable working closely with users (CS reps) and iterating quickly based on feedback
Thrive in a fast-moving environment with a high degree of autonomy and ownership
Are excited about leveraging AI and data science in real-world, practical applications
Hold yourself to a high standard of code quality and take accountability for delivery
Are comfortable navigating ambiguity and contributing to shaping the team’s direction
Why join this team?
Meaningful Impact: The features you build will directly support HubSpot’s CS teams — and scale to customers.
AI-Powered Innovation: Partner with data scientists to drive intelligent workflows.
Engineer-Led Problem Solving: Engineers are encouraged to propose and drive initiatives.
Growth-Focused Culture: Fast iteration cycles, regular feedback, and space to experiment.
Psychological Safety: The team iterates quickly in a safe, collaborative environment designed for learning.
If you’re excited to build high-impact, AI-powered tools that serve both internal and external users — and you love solving complex problems alongside a collaborative team — we’d love to hear from you.
This role can be remote from within the UK, hybrid or in-office (London)
