Responsibilities
Own the backend: design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and backend systems using Ruby on Rails.
Architect scalable solutionsto handle growth, improve performance, and ensure reliability.
Collaborate cross-functionallywith product, design, and frontend teams to deliver features end-to-end.
Integrate with third-party APIsand external services where needed.
Ship with confidence: write clean, testable code, perform thorough reviews, and monitor production systems.
Troubleshoot and debugcomplex issues across services and infrastructure.
Contribute toengineering standards, tooling, and best practicesto elevate overall code quality.
Mentor junior developers and collaborate with distributed teams across time zones.
Qualifications
5+ yearsof professional software development experience.
4+ yearsof production-level Ruby on Rails experience.
Solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and background job processing (Sidekiq, Resque, or similar).
Strong understanding of API design, RESTful services, and performance optimization.
Comfortable with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
Experience working on distributed teams and collaborating asynchronously.
Excellent communication skills in English written and verbal.
A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance speed and quality.
Bonus: experience with Elixir, React, or other complementary technologies.
