About the role
The Senior Revenue Accountant is responsible for the detailed review and analysis of the company’s revenue transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies. This role involves close collaboration with various internal departments, including sales, operations, and IT, to streamline revenue processes and support the financial reporting function. This role is a crucial member of the finance team, primarily responsible for managing and overseeing revenue accounting processes. In this role you will work closely with the Finance Department leadership. You will be working in a fast-paced environment where you will need to be able to multitask and exercise analytical thinking. You will become a subject matter expert in revenue recognition and contribute to the continuous improvement in processes and procedures related to revenue recognition.
Responsibilities
Own day-to-day revenue activities to ensure the policy premium amount and term are accurate and the revenue recognition is set up properly in accordance with ASC 606
Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and journal entries for month end close
Continually Identify potential process improvement and document the process control procedures
Participate in revenue projects related to system automation and implementation
Perform User acceptance Testing (UAT) for new products and programs
Prepare support for monthly close packages and internal/external quarterly audit requests
Assist with the audit inquiries and preparation of audit supporting documents
Support the revenue/accounting team with ad hoc projects
Skills and Qualifications
2+ years of direct revenue recognition experience in a high-growth environment
Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent; finance or business preferred
Thorough understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards
Working experience with a revenue recognition software such as NetSuite ARM
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Critical analytical skills and ability to apply various formulas to analyze a large database
Strong written and oral communication skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
CPA or CPA candidate preferred
Experience working for a public traded company preferred
Self-motivated and able to work independently or in cooperation with others
Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position ranges from $110,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $130,000/year in our highest geographic market. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location.
