The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Product Specialist to join the team in a virtual capacity.
The selected candidate will join the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) team. In this role, you will be responsible for environment system backup and recovery or engineering applications.
Position Responsibilities:
Manage startup, shutdown, messaging, monitoring, and automated recovery for production and non‑production environments
Execute targeted, minimal-impact partial recycles to maximize operational efficiency while minimizing outage duration and scope for specific applications
Drive outage reduction initiatives to minimize manual interventions and prevent unintended side effects
Produce and maintain validated recovery, application recycle, and failover runbooks and procedures to support Major Incident Management (MIM) and related activities
Plan and execute failover and recovery testing for all major block points to ensure operational readiness
Provide environment build and deployment support, including configuration and validation activities
Deliver operational support and consultation for incident response and escalation
Create concise customer-facing tip sheets and runbooks for startup/shutdown procedures and routine operations
Support all major and minor release activities, including cutover coordination and post‑release validation
Maintain and evolve the sustaining production path to ensure long‑term stability and availability
Perform as Liaison with supplier on System Backup Recovery (SBR) tasks, processes, and performance
Support as lead individual with supplier, supporting documentation, training, and adherence to Boeing standards
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience creating scripts in Shell
5+ years of experience creating scripts in Perl
5+ years of experience designing and programming complex SQL queries, triggers, stored procedures, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages, and scripts
5+ years of experience in the development of AIX shell scripts where required for Autosys scheduling implementation
5+ years of experience on a configuration management (CM) team and/or working closely with a configuration management (CM) team
5+ years of experience in LDAP
Experience administering Red Hat Linux based systems with minimal support, to include Linux sub-systems, patching, packaging (RPM), performance tuning, networking, user management, and security
Extensive experience working with system integration toolsets and methodologies (e.g. ETL, Autosys, Pub/Sub, JSON, RESTful Web Services)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience working with cross-functional teams
Experience with vendor sequencing and startup best practices across the stack
Experience using comparison tools for operational support
Experience with vendor application startup and interdependency checks
Experience with Product Data Manager (PDM) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) integrated applications and data flow
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERPLN) and other vendor applications used in the environment
Experience with Document and Collaboration Tools such as Microsoft Word and Outlook
Experience liaising between Systems Integrators/System Administrators and business users
