About the Position

This Sr. Product Marketing Manager (PMM) role will be responsible for the Endpoint Security products and work closely with the Endpoint Product Manager and Product Managers. PMMs at WatchGuard create marketing messages and content that elicit interest and drive engagement with our target audiences.

A Day in the Life

You will start your day by responding to a few emails before you head into some meetings. You see an email from our Field Marketing Manager in EMEA making a request for a new asset that they need for a marketing program…and as it turns out, you just finished a new buyer’s guide that should work perfectly. You quickly jump on Microsoft Teams for your regular weekly meeting with the Product Manager for your product line. They go through an upcoming product launch, and you start building out the launch project and align on assignments and deadlines for each component. Then, you transition to a meeting with the Creative and Web teams to review a revamped webpage designed to reinforce the competitive differentiators of a specific feature within your product line. You drafted the copy already and will now collaborate on the graphics and consider the webpage template options together. Then, you might do some reading over lunch and/or take a walk around the block. In the second half of the day, you’ve blocked out time to do some writing. You are working on a training deck and a core piece of content to help Channel Development Managers engage in meaningful sales conversations with a targeted set of prospective partners. When you reach a good stopping point, you take a moment to check in with the Sales Engineering lead to learn about some challenges they are experiencing with positioning the product and demonstrating value. You finish your day preparing a few slides to present key status updates and action items for an upcoming release to share with the team in the weekly product launch meeting.

Our Product Marketing Managers provide essential marketing services and deliverables, including:

Market Research – PMMs keep a pulse on product trends and messages and engage with industry analysts and other relevant market influencers.

Content Strategy – PMMs plan for new and updated product collateral and content for both end user and MSP audiences, and evaluate the product content streams using key content usage and engagement metrics.

Writing – PMMs develop key messages into crisp and compelling copy, in formats to support the Digital Demand Generation, Corporate Communication and Field Marketing functions.

Program Management – PMMs organize and prioritize tasks for larger content projects including product launches for an overall on-time, high-quality deliverable.

Sales Enablement – PMMs work closely with the Product Manager for their product area to stay abreast of product changes and help to produce content that educates and trains sales teams and channel partners.

Position Responsibilities

  • Devise messaging and content strategy in collaboration with Product Management that will drive sales success and product line growth.

  • Write and develop all forms of marketing content as prioritized by content maps – including web copy, eBooks, video scripts, infographics, buyer’s guides, display ads, landing page copy, interactive online tools, competitive battlecards, blog posts, product collateral, sales pitch decks, partner news articles, and more.

  • Develop product positioning and messaging that eloquently conveys our value proposition and differentiates our products in global markets

  • Communicate winning product claims to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of our products. Deliver training, presentation, and demos as necessary to help sales, partners and prospective customers understand our value

  • Plan and manage the launch of new products and releases while managing the cross-functional implementation of the launch plan

  • Work with global teams by flexing from traditional 8 to 5 work hours to cross over time zones as needed

Skills and Qualifications

  • Able to explain technical concepts in written and verbal forms that make the value clear to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Understand the technical sales process and able to work closely with Sales Engineers and other sales staff.

  • A PowerPoint and webinar guru, and experience with Wrike and Salesforce is a plus

  • Excellent storytelling, written and verbal, resulting in compelling marketing content that engages target audiences

  • Able to independently manage objectives and deadlines from a home/remote office

Experience

  • 10+ years of B2B product marketing for a cybersecurity company

  • Experience in product marketing for endpoint security

  • Experience working for or marketing to IT Security professionals and Managed Service Providers

  • Willing to travel 10%

  • Bachelor’s in business/marketing, or equivalent experience

  • Bonus Points

  • Advanced Degree or Certifications in Business, Marketing, or a Technical field
