About us

We are building a platform to power the flow of data globally. It might sound ambitious, but we are well on our way to accomplishing this mission!

Crux is transforming how companies work with data. For years, data discovery, ingestion, and operations have been expensive, time-consuming, and frustrating for data teams looking to harness large quantities of data. We are solving this challenge by enabling enterprises with tools and operations services that facilitate the onboarding and delivery of any dataset to end customers how, and where, they want it. In our lingo, we’re ushering in the third generation of ETL with data mesh capabilities for enterprises.

We are a fast growing technology company, with a strong culture focused on learning, excellence, teamwork, and ownership. Founded in 2017 by a seasoned team of data professionals, Crux has grown to over 100 employees and contractors and is backed by industry powerhouses, including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Two Sigma.

$150,000 - $170,000 a year

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager with expertise in data management and SaaS platforms to lead the development of innovative data integration products. You will drive the product lifecycle from concept to launch, shaping a vision that connects customers with data suppliers seamlessly and securely.

In this role, you’ll identify customer challenges, define solutions, and create a prioritized roadmap. Your product requirements will guide design and development teams to execute efficiently and deliver timely, high-quality solutions. You’ll also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration with Crux’s existing products and frictionless user experiences.

As a customer advocate, you will align stakeholders, define success metrics, and foster a product-driven mindset across the organization. Your success will be measured by customer engagement, retention, and revenue growth.

If you’re passionate about solving complex data challenges and making a real-world impact, we’d love to talk to you.

This role is 100% remote, based in the U.S.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will

- Lead end-to-end product development, from concept to launch, delivering valuable, intuitive digital experiences that meet customer needs and Crux’s business objectives.

- Simplify complex workflows for external data integration pipelines, transforming them into easy-to-use products and guiding them to market.

- Translate business requirements into Agile user stories and workflows, prioritizing fast, high-quality execution.

- Provide clear documentation and diagrams to enable iterative design and unblock engineering for smooth implementation.

- Develop and test product hypotheses through user research and competitive analysis to deliver customer and business value.

- Define and communicate a compelling product vision, translating it into a strategic roadmap and prioritized backlog.

- Incorporate feedback and technical insights into an evolving product backlog, ensuring continuous improvement.

- Evangelize new features internally and externally, coordinating unified product messaging.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver products on time and in line with expectations.

- Support sales and customer success, as well as support teams in resolving critical issues and driving customer satisfaction.

- Partner with tech and ops teams to improve product development processes.

- Mentor peers and new hires on product management best practices and Crux’s platform.

Qualifications

- Prior experience building data products.

- Deep knowledge of data systems: data integration, transformation, and quality management.

- 7+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years building cloud-based data management products.

- Proven success in shipping scalable SaaS products, focusing on multi-tenant platforms and API-first development.

- Strong technical understanding of databases, APIs, and data management technologies, and the ability to work closely with engineering teams.

- Hands-on experience with end-to-end product delivery, from concept to launch and iteration.

- Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority and collaborate with stakeholders across marketing, sales, engineering, and leadership.

- Solid understanding of Agile development and product management practices.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to various audiences.

- Experience writing clear product documentation, from high-level concepts to detailed PRDs and user stories.

- Analytical mindset, strong quantitative skills, and comfortable working with complex datasets to drive insights and decisions.

- Bachelor’s degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.), data movement (real-time replication or ETL/ELT), multiple clouds (Google, AWS, Azure), cloud analytics destinations (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, RDS, etc.), and API technologies.

- Experience working with external data, particularly market data in the financial services industry, is a significant advantage.

- Prior experience in data engineering or working with data science tools and methodologies.

- Startup experience, especially in the data management or SaaS sector.

- Proven success in leading global, cross-functional teams, including remote collaboration.

- Strong background in Agile or Scrum development practices.

- Hands-on experience with data analytics platforms (e.g., Mixpanel, Amplitude) to analyze customer engagement and drive product growth.
