We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Spend Management team, helping shape how modern companies manage their finances. In this role, you'll craft intuitive solutions that help growing companies control their spend while saving time on administrative tasks.

*Mercury is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services provided by Choice Financial Group, Column N.A., and Evolve Bank & Trust, Members FDIC.

About The Role

You'll be joining Mercury at an exciting time as we execute on our 2025 strategy to become the fastest way for any small business to manage their employee spend. You'll work on projects that directly impact our ability to compete with established players like Ramp and Brex, while maintaining our focus on elegant, simple solutions that scale with our customers.

What You'll Do

  • Lead end-to-end design for key features in our Spend Management product, from initial concept through launch and iteration

  • Design scalable solutions that work seamlessly for companies as they grow from 10 to 50+ employees

  • Create intuitive workflows for expense management, reimbursements, and spend controls

  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to shape product strategy and execution

  • Contribute to our design system and help establish patterns for financial workflows

  • Help evolve our spend management experience to be the fastest solution in the market

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of product design experience, with significant experience designing complex web applications

  • Strong ability to navigate ambiguous problem spaces and drive alignment through iterative exploration

  • Excellence in designing end-to-end customer journeys that span multiple products and touchpoints

  • Proven track record of independently driving projects while managing multiple stakeholder perspectives

  • Experience with low-fidelity iteration and ability to know when to shift to high-fidelity design

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to make complex workflows feel simple and elegant

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design decisions to diverse stakeholders

  • Understanding of technical constraints and ability to partner effectively with engineering

  • Experience with modern design tools (Figma) and prototyping tools

What Sets You Apart

  • Experience designing B2B SaaS products, particularly in fintech

  • Strong understanding of startup financial operations and pain points

  • Demonstrated ability to identify optimal moments for feature discovery and upsells

  • Experience working on products with complex cross-team dependencies

  • Track record of proactively identifying and addressing potential blockers before they impact delivery

  • Comfort with ambiguous problem spaces and ability to drive clarity through exploration

  • Experience with design systems and platform-level thinking

The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity (stock options), and benefits.

Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry.
