  • You’ll have a “seat at the table” from Day 1. Your partners and peers know what you do, greatly value it, and expect you to have strong opinions that influence product development.

  • You’ll co-own a significant part of the product with your partners and you’ll have the support you need to align strategy and vision through implementation.

  • You’ll be able to work where and how you work best: at home, the office, or any mix of both.

  • We support you with clear expectations and career paths that set you up to grow both your craft and influence as well as your impact on the product and users.

About your opportunity

The Commerce platform enables HubSpot users to easily and effectively transact with their clients and customers, using a variety of tools and payment processors connected to work they are already doing in HubSpot. Responsibilities

  • Drive discovery, framing, alignment, and quality for our Commerce experience both within your team and across other Commerce teams.

  • Co-create a shared vision, strategy, and prioritized long-term roadmap for the future of Commerce tools in partnership with product management and engineering peers

  • Work with our Principal User Researcher to understand our customers through quantitative and qualitative research to build use cases, customer journeys, content strategies, prototypes, interaction patterns, and visual designs

  • Play an active part in growing HubSpot’s UX team and culture

  • Uplevel the end to end customer journey thoughtful execution and collaboration with other areas of the business.

Top Candidates will have

  • Strong, demonstrable experience delivering successful and intuitive products using growth best practices - we value “consumer-grade” experience quality while solving enterprise-level problems

  • Experience working closely with cross-functional partners to establish objectives, strategies, and key results through the lens of design

  • Comfort with undefined problem spaces and can facilitate sound decision-making through strong problem framing skills and ability to influence

  • A developed sense for how to balance speed, quality, and consistency of design

  • A sixth sense for how to provide and encourage thoughtful feedback on designs as well as identify overlaps and efficiencies between team member’s projects

  • Can confidently deliver clear, direct, and actionable feedback—and ask for it in return.

  • Won’t shy away from confronting difficult situations or increasing communication when there’s friction or uncertainty

You’ll love this role if you

  • Have more than a few examples of design work that shows off your craft and sets up your storytelling effectively.

  • Give us a sense of how you collaborate on strategy and vision with partners, leaders, and across multiple teams, especially for how you work to drive alignment.

  • Speak to how you balance scope, speed, and quality to reach outcomes that drive customer success, reducing time to value and increasing retention

  • Demonstrate your prowess in crafting seamless experiences from setup through onboarding, driving top of funnel conversion, leveraging a product led growth strategy.

  • Nerd out with us on your love of qualitative and quantitative metrics and show us how you use them to deliver successful, intuitive products with measurable customer and business impact

  • Have experience working with design architecture, IA and a design system, especially consolidating patterns and components across a variety of use cases and contexts

  • Enjoy mentoring, coaching for growth, aligning on goals, and driving accountability at all levels

  • Have experience fostering team health, mission, and purpose

  • Can confidently deliver clear, direct, and actionable feedback—and ask for it in return

  • Share our HEART values and practice growth mindset

One more thing you should know…

There’s a lot of research showing how marginalized groups of people may not apply for jobs unless they meet 100% (or more!) of the qualifications. We also know that many UX folks come from backgrounds with different experiences that might not seem “standard”—and that’s okay! We really value people who bring unique perspectives and add new knowledge to our team.

But you might not feel like you “check all the boxes” as you read this job post. We get it. And we feel these things ourselves, too. But we hope you’ll apply anyway because we’ll take great care in working with you. 🧡

Confidence can sometimes hold us back from applying for a job. But we'll let you in on a secret: there's no such thing as a 'perfect' candidate. HubSpot is a place where everyone can grow. So however you identify and whatever background you bring with you, please apply if this is a role that would make you excited to come into work every day.
