Apply for this position

Why this role matters

You'll be designing the core platform that powers Hightouch's business. Our Customer Data Platform (CDP) is our biggest revenue driver and the foundation that everything else is built on. This is high-value, high-impact work at enterprise scale.

You'll work across multiple products in our Customer Studio realm (our no-code data activation suite). These products serve marketing and growth teams at companies like Spotify, Ramp, and Domino's, handling billions of data points and powering mission-critical workflows.

The opportunity here is broad ownership across a mature, essential product suite. You'll be solving complex problems around data warehouse performance, real-time audience syncing, analytics and experimentation, access control, and change management at scale. Your work directly impacts our largest enterprise customers and shapes how thousands of users interact with their data every day.

The design team

We're a lean team (currently 6 product designers) spanning coast to coast, all remote-first. You'll grow faster here because we don't have layers of process or bureaucracy slowing you down. You ship. You learn. You iterate. Repeat.

How we work:

  • Weekly crits: Bring your work, get constructive feedback from relevant stakeholders.

  • Design jams: We jam on the big stuff as a team (color palettes, new patterns, practice retros).

  • Design system: We've invested in our system since day one. Expanding library, regular sync with engineering.

  • Design cooldown: Bi-weekly sessions where we experiment with new tools, run design exercises, and work on side projects that have nothing to do with our roadmap. Past activities include building interactive prototypes in Framer, exploring AI design tools, and collaborative illustration sessions.

We don't just talk about craft. We live it. Check out our 2025 recap to see a sample of what we shipped last year.

You'll be surrounded by talented and collaborative folks, which means you're constantly learning from people who challenge the way you think. No stagnation here.

What you'll do

You'll refine and optimize the core platform that powers Hightouch's business. This means:

  • Polish and elevate craft: You'll identify friction points in existing flows and systematically improve usability, visual design, and interaction patterns. You're obsessed with details and know how to balance perfection with pragmatism.

  • Deep collaboration: You'll work embedded with engineering teams (Customer Studio Backend, Control Plane, IDR) and PMs to shape product strategy and execution. You'll write specs, participate in technical discussions, and be a thought partner throughout the development process.

  • Product thinking at scale: You'll connect with enterprise customers, synthesize complex requirements across different user types (marketers, admins, data teams), and translate those insights into elegant solutions that work for both novice and power users.

  • Leverage AI tools: You'll use tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and Framer to prototype faster, generate variations, and explore design possibilities that would be too time-consuming to build manually. You'll push the boundaries of what's possible with AI-assisted design.

  • System-level thinking: You'll work across multiple product areas (Customer Studio, IDR, Control Plane) and identify opportunities to create unified experiences and shared patterns that scale across the platform.

  • Own the details: From empty states to error handling to loading patterns at massive data scale, you'll ensure every interaction is thoughtful and polished.

What you bring

  • 4+ years designing and shipping user-friendly features or applications in technical spaces. Experience with B2B data products, marketing tools, or enterprise platforms is a major plus.

  • Exceptional craft: Your visual design, interaction design, and UI skills are top-tier. You have a portfolio that demonstrates obsessive attention to detail and systematic thinking.

  • Technical fluency: You're comfortable discussing data models, APIs, performance constraints, and technical tradeoffs. You can hold your own in conversations with engineers and understand how systems work under the hood.

  • Enterprise product experience: You understand the complexity of building for large organizations with multiple user types, permission models, and governance requirements.

  • Collaborative mindset: You're kind, humble, and assume good intentions. You're comfortable being embedded with engineering teams and see yourself as a thought partner, not just a service provider.

  • AI tool proficiency: You're actively using tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Lovable, or similar to enhance your workflow. Bonus points if you're pushing the limits of what these tools can do.

  • Figma mastery required.

What makes this role different

You're working on an essential platform that serves enterprise customers at scale.

That means you'll have:

  • Clear product market fit and customer feedback loops

  • Established patterns and systems to build on and evolve

  • Deep collaboration with experienced engineers solving hard technical problems

  • Enterprise constraints around performance, scalability, permissions, and governance

  • High standards for craft and polish, since this is the foundation everything else is built on

If you thrive on refining and perfecting rather than rapid experimentation, if you love diving deep into complex systems, and if you want your work to have massive scale and impact, this is the role.

Interview process

  • Recruiter screen [30m]: Intro call.

  • Manager screen [30m]: First conversation with Elliot, who leads the product design team, to learn more about your history and career trajectory.

  • Team portfolio review [30m]: Review of your previous work.

  • Design exercise [60m]: Live exercise we'll run through together where we'll give you a problem and want to see how you begin breaking it down. No homework. Just jamming live on a problem similar to how we work daily.

  • Follow-up 1:1s [30m]: Meet members of the team to wrap up any final questions.
