Job Description Senior Manager, Product Design See yourself at Twilio

Join the team as our next Senior Product Design Manager, Flex Product Design.

Who we are & why we’re hiring

Twilio powers real-time business communications and data solutions that help companies and developers worldwide build better applications and customer experiences.

Although we're headquartered in San Francisco, we have presence throughout South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. We're on a journey to becoming a global company that actively opposes racism and all forms of oppression and bias. At Twilio, we support diversity, equity & inclusion wherever we do business.

About the job

This position is crucial to shaping the experience of our products, ensuring we deliver world-class solutions that meet the evolving needs of our users.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Be a core part of the Flex product design team, providing mentorship and guidance to designers to ensure their growth and success.

  • Drive the design strategy and vision for agent and supervisor experiences, aligning closely with Twilio's overall product and design guidelines.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and other design teams, to ensure a cohesive product vision and implementation.

  • Champion design thinking and user-centered design principles to create compelling, innovative solutions that delight users.

  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and inclusivity within the design team.

  • Manage design resources effectively to ensure timely delivery of high-quality design work.

  • Integrate AI-driven solutions into design strategies to enhance user experience.

Qualifications

Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. Twilio values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having “desired” qualifications make for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!

Required:

  • Strategic Visionary Skills: Craft a compelling vision for product design, aligning it with business goals and market trends, and driving its implementation across the team.

  • Design System Expertise: Develop and maintain design systems to ensure consistency and scalability across platforms and products.

  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Utilize data and analytics to inform design decisions and strategy, balancing user feedback, business objectives, and technical constraints.

  • Change Management: Manage organizational or process changes in design teams, including adopting new tools, methodologies, or workflows.

  • Mentorship and Talent Development: Mentor and coach junior designers, fostering a culture of growth and creativity, and identifying emerging design talent.

  • Cross-Functional Influence: Influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including product, engineering, marketing, and executive leadership.

  • User Research Integration: Integrate user research into the design process, using insights to inform design decisions and iterate on solutions.

  • Stakeholder Management: Manage diverse stakeholders with varying needs and expectations, aligning them to a common design vision and strategy.

  • Adaptability to Emerging Technologies: Stay ahead of industry trends and integrate new technologies effectively into design.

  • Global Design Perspective: Design for a global user base, considering localization, accessibility, and cultural differences in the design process.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with integrating AI into user experiences is a plus.

  • Passion for staying updated on the latest trends in design, technology, and user experience.
