Team Description: 

The Content Operations team is tasked with connecting Redditors to relevant content. The team is responsible for ML + human-in-the-loop content programming of major surfaces (such as the feed, notifications, and onboarding) and growing the content ecosystem on the platform. The team is globally distributed and highly cross-functional - driving content strategy in all key markets and product surfaces. 

 

Role Description:

This Senior Group PM will be responsible for leading the company’s human-in-the-loop content discovery strategy across the product. This involves scaling the impact of our globally distributed team content experts through collaborations with ML, Consumer Product, and Content Tooling teams to improve content experiences on Reddit.

Some of the high impact products this team has built and developed include human-in-the-loop trend detection systems, driven DAU growth in key markets by influencing local content and community discovery, and has built the content strategy used in new user onboarding. This role requires an empathetic, collaborative product leader with an understanding of content, consumer product, machine learning systems, and the interactions between them. You will shape the future of key initiatives with your strong people-management & cross-functional collaboration skills, analytical capabilities, strong bias for impact, and a proven track-record of driving user growth through content. 

You’ll work closely with our global team of content experts, data science, and product leaders across ML and consumer products to create world-class content experiences on Reddit. Additionally, this role will directly manage a team of content experts based in the US & Reddit’s key international markets, and will be responsible for consistently leading the team to great outcomes for Redditors.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a global team of content experts to drive key outcomes for our users, particularly around content discovery and community growth

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, design & ML teams to drive launch new ML + human-in-the-loop content discovery experiences that will delight users and drive business outcomes

  • Work with our data science and user research teams to craft insights into the behaviors and needs of users on Reddit, and translate those insights into hypotheses, tests and features that ultimately lead to a constantly evolving & improved product experience

  • Seek to understand the competitive environment and maintain global awareness of unique user experiences specifically in regards to ML + human-in-the-loop content discovery

  • Work with various cross functional teams (Community, Product Marketing, etc) to drive adoption and usage of the features you ship

  • Crafting a strategy for how ML-enabled content operations can contribute to broader & deeper content discovery for our users

Qualifications:

  • You have at least 4+ years of people management experience

  • You have at least 8+ years of product management experience with at least 4+ years in consumer product

  • You have proven experience building product roadmaps, defining experiments and working collaboratively with design and engineering counterparts

  • You have shipped consumer products end to end that have delivered meaningful business results

  • You have strong analytical and problem solving skills, including a willingness to roll up your sleeves and dive into the minutia. Ability to use SQL is a strong asset 

  • You know how to define team goals and success metrics and ensure that we are tracking towards improvements that align with Reddit's wider business objectives

  • You are a compelling influencer with great communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to align a diverse group of stakeholders towards a common goal

  • You have had direct exposure & a degree of domain expertise in Machine Learning applied to content discovery
