Virtasant is a leading cloud consulting services provider. We heavily focus on lift & shift, cloud-native development, cloud cost optimization, and migration services. As a consulting company, we often are faced with the challenge to create an engineering team in a matter of a week or two. To do that, we have created a secondary support business that runs an engineering talent network and provides staffing services.
Our client is a leading provider of pay equity platforms and analytics and they are looking for a Senior Golang Engineer to join their team.
About the role
We are looking for a senior backend engineer to join the backend engineering team and collaborate on challenges at a fast-paced startup. Customer success hinges on high-quality platform and application development. Your solid and dependable software engineering work for our products will have a meaningful impact on helping companies achieve fairness in the workplace.
What You’ll Do
Collaborate with senior and staff engineers to design and develop small to mid-size features and services delivered to our customer's end users.
Execute pragmatic and scalable solutions that will grow with our company.
Work with the entire engineering organization (frontend, product, QA, and site reliability) to ensure backend projects meet all team requirements.
Focus on secure coding practices and maintainability to ensure new feature implementations fit the needs of a growing engineering organization.
Required Skills
Software Engineering experience with an emphasis on reliable, performant, scalable, and maintainable cloud-based technology platforms
Depth of experience using Golang to build web applications
Experience architecting cloud based applications (we use GCP)
Robust experience with data model and schema design
Experience with PostgreSQL
Strong knowledge of API architecture and experience building APIs
The candidates that also have experience with Redis, Cloud PubSub, and unit testing will be preferred
Good communication skills that enable you to interface with both technical and non-technical teams
Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional roles in a highly collaborative environment
