Company Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora,你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, as well as offices in the US (Austin, TX and in San Francisco, CA). You have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home, or a bit of both, it's up to you.

About the team

With big goals, come big ideas. And our Legal team is there every step of the way - ideating, providing strategic legal advice and collaborating with Canvanauts across the globe to bring our ideas to life.

The Corporate Legal and Equity Operations Team specifically works closely with Canva's leadership, Finance, Tax, People and Total Rewards teams (and many more!) across a broad range of projects, helping to empower Canva to meet its crazy big goals. From supporting our offerings, acquisitions and global expansion, to advising our board of directors and managing employee equity, we strive to be collaborative, creative and strategic partners for the business and its stakeholders. What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavor of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but will likely evolve.

Canva is looking for a senior global entities manager and corporate governance to help scale and mature our international footprint. This role operates at the intersection of Legal, Finance, Tax, Equity and Operations, and is responsible for building, owning, and continuously improving the systems, processes, and programs that support Canva’s global subsidiaries and expansion efforts.

In this role, you will:

Entity management and governance

  • Own Canva’s global entity lifecycle and governance end to end, including incorporations, maintenance, capital injections, restructurings, integrations, wind-downs, subsidiary board and shareholder operations and statutory compliance across jurisdictions.

  • Build, own and continuously improve scalable processes, systems and documentation for entity management and governance, enabling cross-functional teams to self-serve while maintaining accuracy and audit readiness.

  • Act as the single owner and point of accountability for entity-related work, driving organization, prioritization and execution across teams.

Global expansion and mobility

  • Own the legal execution of global expansion by establishing new entities and building repeatable playbooks that help cross-functional teams launch entities in new countries, both efficiently and consistently.

  • Develop deep subject-matter expertise in global mobility and equity-related considerations, providing clear, practical guidance to stakeholders and helping establish scalable frameworks and decision support for employee relocations and cross-border moves.

Insurance

  • Lead our annual insurance renewal cycles, partnering closely with our brokers and internal business partners to gather business information to ensure that our policies are placed in a smooth and timely manner.

  • Own and support placement decisions across the global Canva group to ensure compliance with local requirements and appropriate coverage as we scale.

Integration, securities, and strategic support

  • Own the corporate legal integration of acquired companies, embedding them into Canva’s entity management and governance frameworks.

  • Support securities law compliance and related filings in partnership with legal colleagues and external advisors.

  • Drive executive-sponsored, cross-functional initiatives related to corporate structure and governance, serving as a trusted advisor to leadership by identifying risks, tradeoffs and opportunities and steering issues through to resolution.

You're probably a match if

  • You have 10+ years of experience in corporate governance, entity management, legal operations, program management, or a closely related field, ideally within a fast-growing, global technology company.

  • You have deep, hands-on experience managing international subsidiary portfolios, including entity formation, compliance, restructurings and integrations across multiple jurisdictions.

  • You bring strong judgment and a pragmatic, risk-aware approach to corporate governance and compliance, balancing rigor with business velocity.

  • You have a proven track record of building scalable processes and systems from scratch, and evolving them as organizations grow in complexity and global reach.

  • You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously without losing sight of quality or stakeholder trust.

  • You communicate clearly and confidently in both written and verbal settings, particularly with leadership and in governance or board-facing contexts.

  • You are collaborative, low-ego and comfortable influencing across functions and geographies without relying on formal authority.

  • You are comfortable using and improving technology and tools that support entity management, board operations, records management and cross-functional collaboration.

What's in it for you?

At Canva we value fairness, and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation whilst ensuring internal equity within the team in each region. We make hiring decisions based on your skills, experience and our overall assessment of what we observed and learnt in the hiring process. The target salary range for this position is $164,000 - $222,000. When calculating offers, we make salary decisions based on market data and candidates' skills and experience.

Achieving our crazy big goals motivates us to work hard - and we do - but you'll experience lots of moments of magic, connectivity and fun woven throughout life at Canva, too. We also offer a stack of benefits to set you up for every success in and outside of work.

Here's a taste of what's on offer:

  • Equity packages - we want our success to be yours too

  • Health benefits plans to support you and your wellbeing

  • 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution

  • Inclusive parental leave policy that supports all parents & carers

  • An annual Vibe & Thrive allowance to support your wellbeing, social connection, office setup & more

  • Flexible leave options that empower you to be a force for good, take time to recharge and supports you personally

Other stuff to know

We celebrate all types of skills and backgrounds at Canva so even if you don’t feel like your skills quite match what’s listed above - we still want to hear from you!
