Who We're Seeking to Join Our Team:

This role leads the charge in expanding breadth and depth of retailer engagement. Deepening current relationships (including securing more retailer feedback on suppliers and paid projects) and adding to our retailer network. This role creates and develops mutually beneficial relationships with priority retailers, including current and new clients. Key activities:

  • It leads, in collaboration with leadership and cross-functional colleagues:

  • Refining our retailer strategy and value proposition and bringing it to life every day, overall and for each priority channel, supported by specific action plans.

  • Delivering excellence in relationship management with assigned clients, including reporting out of their Voice of the Supplier results.

  • Maximizing feedback from Advantage Report Voice of the Retailer survey.

  • Finding and closing revenue opportunities by connecting retailers needs with our capabilities and partnering with key team members on proposals and delivery.

  • Envisioning innovative product ideas based on important and unmet client needs.

  • Acquisition and expansion will be a key part of this role. Expanding our retail partnerships (New Business Generation).

  • Youll use AGIs proven capabilities to help clients understand their business opportunities and act on them, creating a virtuous circle.

What Success Looks Like in this Role:

Provide effective Client Service leadership. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Build strong retailer client relationships and ensure that they receive an excellent client experience and gain value and insights from AGI.

  • Acquisition & Expansion Overall and channel specific strategies and acquisition.

  • Ensure clients are actively engaged and put our insights and recommends into action.

  • Enhance the AGI brand within the Retail community through keynote presentations, conference/association participation, white papers, published articles, and other efforts.

  • Contribute to innovations and piloting new approaches as we refine our end-to-end client experience.

  • Achieve revenue goals by maximizing opportunities, expansion, and acquisition.

The Capabilities and Skills that Matter: The successful candidate is likely to have 10 15 years experience working with US retailers in commercial and consultative roles in data-led professional services. Key Competencies: AGI has identified the following set of competencies that successful client service leaders demonstrate and develop in the role over time:

  • Expertise in the US Retail industry: Deep knowledge about how business is done, challenges between trading partners, key trends, and relationship dynamics.

  • Channels and Contacts: Specific knowledge of Grocery, Mass, Club, Drug, Convenience, and Value including key relationships with key retail leaders. Additional channel knowledge a plus.

  • Trusted Advisor: Being a trusted advisor and creating mutually beneficial relationships.

  • A Growth Mindset: An orientation to continually grow yourself, relationships, teams, and the business.

  • Prospecting for Growth: The ability to use prospecting principles, processes, and tools to identify and engage potential clients in the market while continually prospecting within existing clients to capitalize on additional business opportunities.

  • Entrepreneurial Drive: Being driven, ambitious, and motivated to consistently meet / exceed targets. Ability to work independently and an entrepreneurial mindset a positive attitude, zest for learning and always seeking innovations and efficiencies.

  • Practical Understanding of Market Research Principles: Ability to quickly grasp our data model, methods, and insight-to-action approach, and an understanding of related data and research.

  • Analytical and Strategic Thinking, with a Bias for Action: The ability to anticipate future opportunities and trends accurately. Being future oriented and able to create competitive strategies and plans.

  • Insightful Presentations: The ability to present innovative, actionable insights using relevant market data and trends. Proficient at using storytelling tools and techniques to engage clients and deliver new information.

  • Client Leadership: Acting as a client advocate, understanding their needs, and recommending the right solutions, while also implementing successful client leadership programs and practices that drive long-term, sustainable, profitable growth for both AGI and our clients, while achieving high levels of client engagement.

  • Effective Communication: Understanding and applying effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques. The ability to effectively transmit, receive, and interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Effective Decision Making: The ability to act effectively on partial or conflicting information, eliminate roadblocks, take unpopular stands when necessary, and face adversity head on.
