Labcorp is seeking a remote Senior Director, Market Access (Diagnostics –Pediatric and Rare Diseases, Genetics & Specialty Testing) to join our team!

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, day shift

Job Responsibilities

Payer Engagement, Medical Policy & Reimbursement

  • Lead national and regional payer engagement, including interactions with medical directors and policy decision-makers.
  • Secure coverage, appropriate reimbursement, and reduce administrative barriers across commercial and government payers.
  • Translate payer policies, clinical utility expectations, and cost-effectiveness frameworks for internal stakeholders.

Market Access Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and lead market access strategies aligned with commercial goals and product positioning.
  • Advice on reimbursement pathways, payer dynamics, and access risks/opportunities across pipeline and in-market tests
  • Guide coding, coverage, and payment strategy for modern technologies, informing business cases and go/no-go decisions.

Evidence Strategy & Clinical Utility

  • Partner with Medical Affairs and Clinical teams to assess evidence gaps and shape evidence-generation strategies.
  • Support clinical study design to align with payer requirements for analytical validity, clinical validity, and clinical utility.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with RCM to align reimbursement performance with payer policies and improve revenue capture.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop consistent, payer-focused value messaging.
  • Work with Government Payor Solutions and Regulatory Affairs to support initiatives that expand access.

Portfolio & Pipeline Support

  • Lead market access strategy for new test development, including reimbursement potential and payer adoption barriers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure market access needs are incorporated into product strategy, pricing, and launch planning.
  • Develop Market Access strategies to support product roadmap, pricing, and lunch planning.

Market Intelligence & Thought Leadership

  • Track payer policies, clinical guidelines, competitive trends, and emerging evidence.
  • Represent Labcorp in payer engagements, industry forums, and professional organizations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or Life Sciences
  • 10 or more years of experience in market access, reimbursement or payer strategy within diagnostics, biotech, or healthcare services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Life Sciences, Genetic Counseling, Business Administration or Public Health.

Additional Job Standards

  • Expertise in pediatric and rare diseases, genetic testing, and/or other specialty testing areas
  • Demonstrated success securing payer coverage and reimbursement for novel diagnostics.
  • Strong understanding of coding, coverage, and payment pathways for IVDs and LDTs.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive‑level presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence without direct authority.

Pay Range: $180,000 - $210,000

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. 

The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers. Compensation may also include discretionary short- and long-term incentive packages.

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
