Who we are & why we’re hiring

Twilio powers real-time business communications and data solutions that help companies and developers worldwide build better applications and customer experiences.

Although we're headquartered in San Francisco, we have presence throughout South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. We're on a journey to becoming a global company that actively opposes racism and all forms of oppression and bias. At Twilio, we support diversity, equity & inclusion wherever we do business.

About the job

This position is needed to drive operational excellence throughout the GTM finance function.

Twilio is looking for an individual excited to bring their strong financial and analytical skills to a collaborative team-based working environment. This will be a highly visible role, helping to optimize commercial decision-making, capital allocation, ROI, and reporting/analytics on core financial metrics. The role will involve business partnering, ad-hoc analysis and special projects requiring thoughtful analysis to drive decision-making in partnership with senior GTM leadership.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead the Go-To-Market Finance team for our Communications business, supporting the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) of the Communications business and the entire staff of the CRO.

  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's Go-To-Market initiatives to drive revenue growth, market share, and profitability

  • Lead the annual budgeting process for Go-To-Market activities, including resource allocation plans. Monitor performance against budgets and provide regular updates to senior management.

  • Create financial models to evaluate the financial impact of different Go-To-Market strategies, pricing decisions, market expansion plans, and investment opportunities. Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to assess risk and opportunity

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for Go-To-Market activities, such as customer acquisition costs (CAC), customer lifetime value (CLV), sales pipeline metrics, and ROI on marketing campaigns. Provide insights and recommendations based on performance metrics.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, product management, operations, corporate finance, investor relations, revenue operations, revenue FP&A, R&D FP&A and more.

  • Lead a high-performing team of 10+ finance professionals located around the globe. Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to develop talent and foster a culture of excellence

Qualifications

Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. Twilio values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having “desired” qualifications make for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!

Required:

  • 10+ years in Finance, including experience managing a team

  • Sales Finance experience at a high-growth company that operates globally

  • Experience functioning across a matrixed organization, working with regional sales teams, and conducting pricing analysis for deals

  • The capability to build out, motivate, develop and lead a high-performing team

  • Strong communication & analytical skills; experience presenting to C-level leadership

  • Deep understanding of unit economics, commercial functions and process, and key measurement metrics

  • Someone who is an independent thinker, doesn’t settle, strives for excellence, and fosters an environment of continuous learning and collaboration

  • A customer oriented mindset
