At VIATRIS, we see healthcare not as it is but as it should be. We act courageously and are uniquely positioned to be a source of stability in a world of evolving healthcare needs. Viatris empowers people worldwide to live healthier at every stage of life. We do so via:

  • Access – Providing high quality trusted medicines regardless of geography or circumstance;

  • Leadership – Advancing sustainable operations and innovative solutions to improve patient health; and

  • Partnership – Leveraging our collective expertise to connect people to products and services.

Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Senior Director, Corporate Development will make an impact:

The Senior Director of Corporate Development will play a key leadership role in driving the company’s inorganic growth strategy—including mid-size to large-scale M&A, divestitures, equity investments, and strategic partnerships. This individual will lead deal execution, coordinate diligence efforts, and support strategic evaluations aligned with the company’s long-term goals. This role requires deep financial acumen, pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry experience, and a strong scientific and analytical foundation to assess opportunities involving technologies, therapeutic platforms, and product portfolios. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate the ability to optimize and streamline corporate development processes to support scalable, high-impact transactions.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Lead day-to-day execution of M&A and strategic transactions, including diligence coordination across Commercial, R&D, Legal, Finance, and Operations.

  • Serve as a liaison with external advisors (banks, legal counsel, consultants) during transaction execution.

  • Contribute to target identification and strategic assessments, including market fit, asset quality, and competitive positioning.

  • Build and review valuation models (DCF, IRR, NPV, accretion/dilution), scenario analyses, and financial risk assessments.

  • Coordinate with Commercial, R&D, Finance, Supply Chain and other cross functional teams to assess feasibility, integration potential, and strategic alignment.

  • Support internal governance processes including deal approval workflows and documentation.

  • Work with integration leads and FP&A to transition financial assumptions and strategic priorities into execution plans.

  • Identify and implement improvements in deal execution processes, templates, reporting frameworks, and internal collaboration practices.

  • Support capability-building initiatives within the Corporate Development team to drive consistency and efficiency across transactions.

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

  • 8-12 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, transaction advisory, or strategic finance, with a strong focus in pharmaceuticals and/or healthcare.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading complex strategic transactions, including M&A, licensing, and divestitures.

  • Strong financial and valuation skills, with a strategic mindset and excellent project management capabilities.

  • Scientific and analytical fluency - ability to understand technical product information, R&D data, and therapeutic pipelines in context of deal strategy.

  • Experience fine-tuning internal deal processes and improving cross-functional workflows.

  • High emotional intelligence, attention to detail, and confidence in managing senior stakeholders and external partners.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. The salary range for this position is $151,000.00 - $270,000.00.

At Viatris, we offer competitive salaries, benefits and an inclusive environment where you can use your experiences, perspectives and skills to help make an impact on the lives of others.
