Our flagship campus is in Sydney, with a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces across Australia and New Zealand. But you have a choice in where and how you work. We trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals. This role is remote across ANZ on a Fixed Term Contract (12 months).

What you’d be doing in this role

At Canva, our mission is to empower the world to design, and data plays a critical role in making that possible. As a Senior Data Scientist in the Admin Experience within the Teams & Education Supergroup, you’ll help shape the way organisations adopt and scale Canva. The Admin Experience Group brings together 60+ talented product managers, designers, engineers and data specialists to build features that empower admins to confidently roll out Canva across their companies. You’ll be partnering closely with product, design, research and engineering to guide product decisions with meaningful insights. While deeply integrated into your cross-functional teams, you’ll also collaborate with Canva’s broader central data community - sharing best practices, raising the bar, and ensuring strategic alignment across the company. As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA - and that’s all part of the fun.

At the moment, this role is focused on

• Uncovering strategic insights by combining deep product knowledge with rigorous data analysis to identify opportunities for growth and feature improvements • Designing and analysing experiments to test hypotheses drawn from user research and behavioural data • Defining, forecasting and influencing with metrics — crafting goal metrics, analytic events and dashboards that drive data-informed product decisions • Guiding feature rollouts end-to-end — from metric design and instrumentation to reporting results and influencing next steps • Supporting roadmap planning by surfacing insights that shape product priorities • Building scalable analytics solutions and exploring opportunities to use AI to improve efficiency across the Supergroup

You’re probably a match if

• You have a proven track record of using data to influence product strategy and drive meaningful business impact • You approach problems with a hypothesis-driven mindset and are highly proficient in SQL for extracting and manipulating data • You think numerically, design and forecast goal metrics, and communicate insights through compelling data storytelling • You’re highly accurate and thoughtful in how you interpret data, and you present complex ideas clearly and concisely • You have experience with experimentation, analytic event design, and working with modern data warehousing solutions • You’re comfortable working with large-scale datasets and replicating data pipelines • You understand product-led growth environments, including concepts like growth accounting, funnels and event instrumentation
