Labcorp is seeking a US remote Senior Counsel – Managed Care to join our team!

Job Responsibilities:

The Senior Counsel – Managed Care is part of Labcorp’s In-House Law Department. This position has a strong emphasis on drafting and reviewing regulatory payor/provider contracts and works closely with internal clients in Labcorp’s Payor Solutions department, Contract Administrators, other attorneys’ functional leaders across the Labcorp enterprise, and outside counsel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) approved law school.

  • 2 or more years of experience as an in-house health care attorney with a clinical reference laboratory or ancillary provider, health plan or payor or health system.

  • 2 or more years of experience with payor/provider contracts review, drafting and negotiation.

  • 2 or more years of experience with federal and state laws and regulations with commercial and federal and state governmental health insurers and plans, including provider contracts, networks, claims, reimbursement and denials.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of experience as an in-house health care attorney with a clinical reference laboratory or ancillary provider, health plan or payor or health system.

Additional Job Standards:

  • Admission to the state bar where practicing.

  • General knowledge of healthcare-related laws and regulations applicable to provider contracts and transactions involving ancillary providers, health plans or other payors, IPAs and healthcare systems.

  • Knowledge of applicable compliance laws, such as Stark, Anti-Kickback, HIPAA.

  • Strong attention to detail, with ability to summarize key issues clearly and succinctly for Labcorp management.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts, information, and nuances in connection with managed care law and related operational issues.

  • Proficiency with legal research tools and analysis.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range: $125k-$177k annually (USD)

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers. Compensation may also include discretionary short- and long-term incentive packages.

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
