Finary is a hybrid remote company. Our talented team is currently based in France and across Europe. Our office is located in the heart of Paris, and we organize on-sites every 6 weeks.

About the role

We're looking for a highly experienced backend software engineer to work on our most popular product: the portfolio tracker.

Your role will be to work on the Ruby on Rails backend stack :

• design & implement scalable, efficient backend solutions and API's, ensuring high performance and reliability across our platform.

• provide technical guidance to less experienced developers, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes learning and professional growth.

• identify areas for improvement in the backend codebase, refactoring, and optimizing for better performance and maintainability.

• engage closely with frontend, design, and product teams to ensure that backend solutions align with overall product goals and user needs.

• ensure that backend infrastructure is scalable and optimized for performance, security, and cost-efficiency.

• set up automated testing, monitoring, and alert systems to ensure backend stability and swift resolution of issues.

You’d be a great fit if you demonstrate

• proven expertise in Ruby on Rails

• 5+ years in a backend role in product-driven organizations

• strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.

• experience in architecting scalable systems and optimizing performance.

• excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• a commitment to continuous learning and embracing change.

• adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.

• like to take initiative and find new creative solutions to problems

• are fluent in English (written and spoken)

Bonus points if you

• know Rust language

• play competitive sports

• are comfortable with product analytics (Amplitude is a plus)

• are passionate about personal finance

• have an excellent eye for aesthetics
