Role Overview :
At Jimdo, we are committed to providing innovative solutions that empower our users' creativity. Our backend systems are a cornerstone of this promise. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening and scaling these systems, ensuring they remain robust, efficient, and effective.
Your impact:
Design, develop, and optimize API services with a keen focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, understanding requirements and ensuring that the backend solutions integrate seamlessly with other components.
Uphold a high standard of code quality through code reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices.
Diagnose and resolve backend issues, aiming for minimal downtime and optimum performance.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in backend development.
Provide insights and feedback to the Tech Lead and other stakeholders, ensuring the technical feasibility and timeline of backend solutions.
What you bring:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development.
Proficiency in Kotlin. Experience with Java is beneficial.
Hands-on experience with REST APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices in backend development.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
Hands-on experience with Agentic Coding best practices, including leveraging AI agents to deliver end-to-end features
Familiarity with frontend technologies, specifically JavaScript, TypeScript, or React, is a plus but not required.
Background of building IAM solutions is a plus.
