About the role
Thanks for your interest in Found! We’re seeking an art director who can shape and evolve our voice across all touchpoints, from our customers’ first encounter with Found, to deep into their relationship with Found. We build intuitive and beautiful products to enable our self-employed customers to focus on doing what they do best — running their businesses, and we need you to help reach and nurture them along their journey.
The design team collaborates closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams on everything from user experience to visual design to creating scalable design systems. You’ll help steer the team to ensure a consistent and relevant voice throughout the journey, and jump in yourself with concepting, designing, and producing best-in-class work that elevates Found.
We’re looking for team members who believe that financial services don’t have to be ugly and scary but instead can be clean, clear, and enjoyable to use. As a member of our growing team, you’ll be directly responsible for building and shaping what we create.
Day to day you will:
Design work for diverse projects, including brand and advertising campaigns and product launches across varied mediums (Web, interactive, motion, photography, and print).
Create detailed, pixel-perfect mockups, prototypes, and assets; overseeing the art direction of key (in-house and external vendors) deliverables.
Develop an iterative approach, pushing for continuous optimization, building and testing design solutions, and finding common ground between intuition and data.
Expand our visual design systems to create a holistic approach to typography, color, patterns, layouts, and imagery, and consistently contribute to our design systems.
Collaborate on the overall planning and strategy of programs with the marketing team.
Communicate your ideas to cross-functional stakeholders, and articulate concepts and ideas clearly, engaging in healthy critique, and articulating the rationale behind your design decisions
Manage and own small to medium-scale projects independently.
To thrive in this role, you have:
8+ years of experience and an outstanding brand design portfolio with examples of having led integrated brand and marketing projects from business need to concepts to execution
A scientific approach. You love running experiments and learning. You don’t shy away from data or numbers, but use them to inform your designs moving forward.
An informed hypothesis. You have experience creating designs for campaigns, landing pages, and multiple marketing channels and have successfully improved KPIs.
Experience leading cross-functional projects and taking the brand and advertising projects from concept to execution
Excellent communication skills. You feel at ease presenting your ideas, thoughts, decisions, and processes clearly and concisely, whomever the audience.
A growth mindset. You’re not intimidated by the unknown. Instead, you welcome uncharted territory with open arms and an open mind. You are hungry and eager to dive into new projects and take ownership.
Strong proficiency with tools like Figma and Adobe CC
You may also have:
Previous startup experience and demonstrated flexibility, initiative, and founder-focused mentality necessary to be successful in a startup environment.
Motion/animation design experience.
Experience or interest in financial services and self-employment.
Passion for learning and growing as a designer and team member.
Compensation at Found
The anticipated salary range for this role is $158,000 - $182,000. The salary range listed represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by several factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Our competitive base salary is just a piece of Found’s total compensation package.
