We are seeking a Senior Android Engineer with a strong technical background, a demonstrated passion for delivering high-quality software, and contagious enthusiasm to join our team. Reporting to one of our Engineering Managers, you will play a pivotal role in developing and launching features for the Calendly Mobile Android app. If you are ready to make a significant impact and grow your career, we would love to hear from you.
A day in the life of a Senior Android Engineer at Calendly
You enjoy collaborating with Product and Design partners to create solutions that will deliver a great experience to users. Top candidates are proactive, stakeholder-minded, and empathetic. You and your team members impact every aspect of development from design, delivery and maintenance. You write clean code and work closely with product managers to plan and implement complete solutions. You are comfortable working in technologies such as Kotlin, Compose, and Android UI design.
On a typical day, you will be working on:
Advocating for strong foundations in technical architecture while maintaining high velocity
Working end-to-end to deliver features - from discovery, product design, technical design, coding, testing, shipping, and iteration based on collaborator feedback
Reviewing tech specs and pull requests from other specialists
Improving our engineering systems and processes; we operate an agile process with sprints and iterate continuously
Mentoring and coaching other team members
What do we need from you?
7+ years as an Android Engineer developing native applications at a SaaS or technology company
Proficiency in interacting with RESTful APIs from mobile applications
Experience working with Kotlin
Experience building Android UI (XML, Compose)
Knowledge of the MVVM architectural pattern
Excited to craft simple software solutions to sophisticated problems
Strive to craft clean, reliable and highly maintainable code.
Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time
