The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Personal Lines leader to lead a geographic subregion and Territory Management team across
New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont. You will be responsible for driving profitable growth across Auto, Home, and Specialty products. This role owns territory strategy, agency performance, talent development, and execution of growth and profitability initiatives.
The ideal candidate combines strong people leadership with deep knowledge of independent agency distribution and Personal Lines. You will use market and portfolio insights to strengthen agency partnerships, increase business flow, optimize the agency footprint, and deliver sustainable results.
What You’ll Do
Own subregion performance against key financial targets, including written premium, profitability, rate adequacy, new business, and retention.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Senior Territory Managers to achieve growth, profitability, and agency performance goals.
Develop and execute territory and agency strategies that drive profitable Personal Lines growth.
Analyze agency portfolios to identify growth and profitability opportunities across Auto, Home, and Specialty.
Drive new business flow through comparative rater optimization, agency marketing, lead generation, referrals, and book consolidation strategies.
Optimize the agency footprint through agency expansion, engagement, performance improvement, and terminations when appropriate.
Build strong agency partnerships through effective engagement, performance management, and strategic planning.
Identify and respond to changes in pricing, competition, business quality, agency performance, customer needs, and market conditions.
Partner with Underwriting, Distribution, Sales Operations, Marketing, and other internal teams to execute growth and profitability strategies.
Monitor regulatory, legislative, judicial, and catastrophe-related developments that may impact territory performance.
Leverage agency compensation and profit-sharing programs to influence performance and drive business results.

You can translate portfolio and market insights into actionable strategies, influence agency and internal partners, and effectively balance growth, retention, and profitability. Experience with Auto, Home, and Specialty products, comparative raters, agency marketing, and agency footprint optimization will position you for success.

Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in business or related field or equivalent training required
MBA, CIC and/or institute designation preferred
Minimum 10 years of progressively more responsible related work experience in a field distribution environment
Proven success in building internal and external partnerships, improving team and individual performance
Demonstrates strong business acumen and understanding of agency business, solid track record of achieving results, project management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
