The Quality Control Auditor uses knowledge of the mortgage banking industry; specifically, in loan origination, processing, underwriting, closing/funding, shipping and insuring to perform portions of a Quality Control audit on different loan types based on federal, state, investor and company requirements and guidelines.

Your Responsibilities on the Team
- Being a subject matter expert in certain aspects of loan origination, such as regulatory compliance
- Review certain aspects of loan files for accuracy and conformance to company policy, investor’s underwriting guidelines and regulatory compliance
- Review files for evidence of misrepresentation using internet resources to research red flags identified in loan file
- Generate exception memos for response and evaluate all responses to ensure corrective actions are taken on individual loan files and determine procedural changes are being followed
- May schedule and arrange for timely site inspections of all companies branches and review reports to ensure company’s policies and procedures are followed and are in compliance with all regulations. Follow up with branch managers to ensure timely corrective action is taken for any deficiencies and maintain documentation of same. Advise Management of all unresolved deficiency findings.
- May open files, send re-verifications, perform verbal re-verifications and order field reviews and/or credit reports as assigned. Perform any additional duties as requested by Management
Requirements
- Minimum of three years’ experience in mortgage lending
- Minimum of one-year underwriting experience or equivalent with Conventional, FHA and VA loan products preferred
- Previous experience with loan closings and regulatory compliance
- Must understand functions and procedures in a Quality Control Department
