About the Role

Andela’s Product Team is at the intersection of people, process, and technology. We work closely with engineers, operations teams, and users to build a next-generation platform that facilitates the connection between the global talent workforce (brilliance) and some of the best companies in the world (opportunity). We believe that the future of work hinges on successful remote work relationships, and we are building products to solve for this.

As a Product Program Manager at Andela, you will be both a problem solver and a connector. By supporting various aspects of the product team, you will enable the team to focus their time on defining, building, and shipping products. You will improve team communication, collaboration, and remove roadblocks. Finally, you'll utilize a full range of organizational and interpersonal skills to help keep our teams on track, communicate impact, and you'll have an opportunity to work with cross-functional teams as you establish great ways of working together.

You will be encouraged to identify areas of improvement, work independently and with primary collaborators to address sophisticated issues, and work well within a team environment. If you want to work on impactful initiatives that are going to materially change Andela’s trajectory, this role is for you!

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain milestone-driven plans and ceremonies that keep product initiatives on track, from discovery to launch to support/adoption.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and gaps in solutions and proactively work to incorporate them into scope and plans where needed.

  • Identify the need for new programs and proactively prioritize these into your program backlog.

  • Manage company-wide communications regarding progress, blockers, and upcoming milestones.

  • Identify dependencies and blockers and help move the team through successfully.

  • Ensure org-wide readiness for new product launches.

  • Prepare, organize, and run internal training sessions on new features with the Product and Support teams.

  • Prepare company-wide launch and go-to-market plans together with Product Marketing.

  • Work seamlessly with stakeholders across the organization and manage deliverables and deadlines for all.

  • Identify success metrics for each project at the kickoff, work with the analytics team for future report creation and report out on them during the retrospective.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of project or program management experience, working specifically with product and engineering teams; or 2+ years of product management experience.

  • Technical proficiency; you don’t have to be an engineer, but you do need to speak the language.

  • Strong understanding of lean MVP and agile principles.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to identify and communicate blockers, next steps, and progress.

  • Consensus-builder; you can develop relationships across departments with ease.

  • Strong communication skills and experience working with different teams and people of all levels.

  • Experience with conflict resolution and managing shifting priorities while maintaining control.

  • Leadership skills with the proficiency to empower and focus teams to reach a meaningful goal as well as the capability to think tactically and strategically.
