You'll lead two critical teams, SceneGraph & Sync and Fullscreen Platform, driving the core data model, real-time collaboration infrastructure, and platform foundations that power all Figma products across web, desktop, and mobile.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you’ll do at Figma:
Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for foundational data model, collaboration, and platform systems that power all Figma products
Guide the SceneGraph & Sync team to optimize core data representation, real-time collaboration infrastructure, and AI integration capabilities including Figma's proprietary AI language

Shape the company strategy for version control, real-time collaboration, and platform foundations, ensuring consistency and performance across all products
Collaborate with product teams as a technical consultant, providing specialized platform capabilities while maintaining architectural integrity
Drive performance optimization initiatives around file load times, collaboration sync, and platform efficiency to deliver performant user experiences
Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and communicate the value of foundational improvements across the organization
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
6+ years of experience as a full-time Product Manager
Strong technical background with understanding of version control systems, distributed systems, or real-time collaboration technologies
Experience with building internal APIs, developer platforms, and foundational systems that enable other teams
Ability to balance immediate performance improvements with long-term architectural investments in platform systems
Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to navigate ambiguity while building roadmaps and aligning stakeholders
While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
Experience working with LLMs or AI integration in complex software systems
Understanding of complex design tools or creative software platforms
Background in multiplayer systems and conflict resolution algorithms
Experience with WebAssembly (WASM), C++, or low-level performance optimization
Knowledge of browser technologies and cross-platform development
Experience leading major platform initiatives that enabled multiple product teams
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
