The Role

Bitly’s Product Design team is responsible for ensuring an easy-to-use, high-quality, predictable experience. We are empowered to do what's right by our customers by paying attention to what they do in-app and what they tell us through feedback.

Our Growth team is dedicated to identifying the key drivers that will have a significant impact on our business. To achieve this goal, we rely on insights from qualitative research, product data, and business objectives to form hypotheses. We then design experiments that allow us to efficiently test and scale our hypotheses. Success on our team requires a balance of excellent design skills, a deep understanding of our business metrics, and a willingness to experiment and learn through trial and error.

What You'll Do

  • Bring excellent design and problem-solving skills with the ability to execute

  • Take ownership of new and critical products – operating as an extension of the design team and advocate for our users

  • Closely collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Marketing peers to identify product opportunities, define success, and prioritize requirements

  • Work with the Product Design team to define the vision and contribute to product strategy

  • Actively contribute to and help manage the Bitly Product Design System

  • Take a data-driven approach toward identifying problems and evaluating solutions by finding areas that require greater understanding and then scoping, conducting, and analyzing research

  • Translate quantitative and qualitative insights into testable ideas, design experiments, and new product features, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Facilitate design workshops and reviews

  • Improve design processes and help build our growing Product Design team culture

Who You Are

  • 3 years of professional experience in interface & user experience design; ideally in an in-house role. Prior experience working with a Growth team is a plus

  • A track record of executing at every stage of the design lifecycle, from research to ideation to delivery

  • The ability to run independently and give support to designers within your team

  • A portfolio that shows you’ve taken complex concepts and turned them into approachable human-centered solutions that have made a significant impact on business metrics

  • Demonstrated ability to iterate and refine product designs based on user feedback and evolving project requirements, ensuring a responsive and agile design process.

  • Problem-solving skills that enable you to ask meaningful questions, conduct and analyze user research, and scope design opportunities

  • Experience creating, maintaining, and/or contributing to Design Systems with an eye for consistency, quality, and accessibility

  • Understanding of key business metrics and data, as well as how they connect to design

  • Great track record for working closely with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers. Together, efficiently shipping successful products/features

  • Comfort and confidence in leading group activities, and communicating decision-making that cascades across platform
