About the role:

Salary range: $180k – $290k*

Location: Remote - EST or CST preferred 

Kalepa is looking for a technically-focused Principal Product Manager with 7+ years of experience to be a leader within our Product team. We are a VC-backed, remote-friendly startup delivering software to transform and disrupt commercial insurance. Our HQ is located in New York City.

You will be expected to set strategy and drive execution for major product areas of Kalepa’s core underwriting product: working closely with engineers, designers, and other technical resources to deliver on Kalepa’s product vision and unlock value for users. You will be expected to define and own the long-term roadmap, mentor other product managers, and contribute to Kalepa’s culture and commercial success.

About you:

• You have 7+ years of product management experience, including 3+ in a senior or principal-level role

• You excel at leading cross-functional teams and influencing executive stakeholders, including architectural decisions with engineering counterparts

• Hustle mindset - you remove obstacles, take initiative, and find ways to get things done

• You love being the voice of the customer. You understand their problems and needs in detail and always look for better ways to address them

• You can independently set the strategy for, define, and ship complex, high-impact software products at scale

• You value open, frank, and respectful communication

• You are data-driven, adept at combining quantitative and qualitative insights to bring clarity, prioritization, and alignment in ambiguous environments

• You leverage AI tools both for your own productivity and as part of product innovation, finding ways to make users’ lives better through intelligent features

As a plus:

• Experience at a venture-backed startup during hyper-growth

• Experience building and releasing a major product end to end, or significantly scaling an existing product

• Computer science or engineering background
