Principal Game Designer - WWE Champions
Scopely is looking for a Principal Game Designer to join our WWE Champions team within our Midcore division in the United States or Canada on a remote basis.

What You Will Do
Own feature development from pitch to live operation
Design, implement and balance new features and systems
Design and optimize in-game economies - including currencies, pricing models, existing systems, upcoming features, and progression paths - from early player onboarding through elder player end-game - to drive long-term engagement and maximize revenue
Generate clear feature documentation, user flows, diagrams, wireframes, and/or prototypes for new features and systems
Analyze game data and player behavior to iterate and evolve live features
Collaborate with the product team, Engineers, Artists & LiveOps to design the optimal daily experience for our players, and deliver impactful features
Influence the product roadmap with innovative, data-informed design proposals
Stay current on market trends, competitor titles, and evolving F2P design strategies
Mentor and support junior designers on economy and systems design best practices
What We're Looking For
8+ years of experience in game design
Expertise in developing and maintaining evergreen systems for a live-operated game
Proven ability to design and deliver impactful live features such as game modes, challenges, events, etc.
Proven experience in systems design, progression modelling and feature development
Experience working on live games, especially in the F2P mobile space
A proven track record of delivering features that balance player fun, engagement, and monetisation
Expertise with systems and economy design, including tuning, progression modeling, and numerical balancing
Mastery of spreadsheets and confidence in balancing power curves, pacing, and resource flow
Experience working cross-functionally and navigating live production environments
A positive, thoughtful, and collaborative approach to game development
Mastery of feature design fundamentals — player motivation, usability, pacing, and reward systems
Analytical mindset - comfortable interpreting data to inform design choices
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across disciplines
Excellent documentation skills - able to clearly articulate design intent through specs, diagrams, and user flows
Expertise with Excel and Google Sheets
Passion for F2P mobile games, especially character-collection RPGs and combat-based systems
Bonus Points
Experience designing features for character-collection RPGs or combat-based mobile titles
Ability to mentor other designers and influence cross-team creative direction
Experience working on mobile F2P games
Familiarity with WWE
Experience developing in Unity
