We are seeking an experienced Principal Data Warehouse Architect to join our Analytics and Insights team. Reporting to a Director, the person in this role will lead high‑impact Data Science and Engineering initiatives, focusing on the design and architecture of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. You will play a key role in transforming transactional raw data into structured, actionable insights that drive decision‑making and business growth.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design and deploy scalable Google Cloud services in GCP.

  • Implement IAM access controls to ensure secure and compliant data environments.

  • Develop and implement robust data ingestion pipelines from diverse sources.

  • Develop and enforce data validation processes to maintain accuracy and reliability.

  • Enhance data quality and efficiency through continuous optimization.

  • Analyze raw data to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities.

  • Produce clear design documentation and solution roadmaps.

  • Lead projects independently while collaborating effectively within larger teams.

  • Mentor and cross‑train junior and senior Data Engineers, sharing expertise on complex assignments.

  • Advance your skills through hands‑on experience and formal learning opportunities.

  • Support pre‑sales activities by providing accurate work estimates and technical input.

  • Partner closely with Project Management to deliver projects on time and within budget.

  • Travel occasionally as required for project or team needs.

Their deep expertise enables them to resolve complex technical and service challenges, ensuring operational excellence through disciplined execution and continuous improvement.

  • Technically, they translate complex concepts into clear, actionable insights for varied audiences. Proficient with Microsoft Project, Visio, and Office tools, they leverage architectural expertise to design scalable, resilient data solutions while staying current with emerging technologies to drive innovation in data engineering practices.

Technical skills we're looking for:

  • Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure automation.

  • Advanced programming skills in Python (pandas, numpy, PySpark).

  • Strong SQL expertise across MS SQL, OracleDB, and Teradata.

  • Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools to streamline deployment.

  • Expertise in Big Data pipeline tools (Spark, Pig, Hive, Sqoop, Kafka).

  • Knowledge of Data Governance tools such as DLP and Dataplex.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Skilled in REST services and API management, including:

  • Implementing API proxies via Apigee X/Apigee Edge.

  • Designing, developing, and testing APIs with Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.

Education, Skills, Experience and Certifications we're looking for:

  • Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, MIS, or IT‑related field (BA/BS in unrelated field considered with relevant experience).

  • 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering.

  • 3+ years of application design and development in a cloud environment.

  • 2+ years building and deploying containerized applications in Kubernetes.

  • 2+ years coding REST services and APIs using Python, C#, Node.js, or Java.

  • Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer preferred.

  • Google Cloud Certified Cloud DevOps Engineer preferred (optional).
