Data Meaning is seeking an experienced Pre-Sales Specialist to join our expanding pre-sales consulting team. This is a strategic, client-facing role designed for a technical expert who bridges the gap between complex data challenges and enterprise analytics solutions. You will partner directly with our Sales Executive team to drive technical evaluations, demonstrate platform capabilities, and architect bespoke solutions that accelerate client adoption of Alteryx and complementary self-service analytics platforms.

Position Overview
As a Alteryx Pre-Sales Specialist, you are the technical authority who enables Data Meaning to close complex, high-value deals by demonstrating how Alteryx and the modern analytics stack solve real-world business challenges. You are equal parts consultant, architect, educator, and technologist, guiding pre-qualified accounts through rigorous technical evaluations while building their confidence in our solutions and team.
This is not a 'feature-demo' role; it is a strategic consulting position where you:
Architect customized solutions to complex business problems
Lead technical decision-making conversations with C-suite and practitioner stakeholders
Translate business pain points into actionable Alteryx or other technologies implementations
Build proof-of-concept workflows that demonstrate tangible ROI
Mentor team members and develop internal talent
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with Sales Executives to provide deep technical pre-sales support to qualified opportunities
Conduct bespoke discovery and architecture sessions with client stakeholders
Create and deliver compelling proof-of-concept (POC) workflows and use case demonstrations
Develop professional services scope documents and implementation roadmaps
Maintain mastery of Alteryx Designer, Server, and Cloud platforms
Conduct competitive analysis and vendor evaluations
Research emerging technologies and integration patterns (AI, cloud platforms, workflow orchestration)
Contribute to internal knowledge base, case studies, and sales enablement materials
Mentor junior consultants and new team members on pre-sales expertise and client-facing skills
Conduct peer reviews of POC workflows and architectural designs
Lead internal training sessions on new platform capabilities and methodologies
Support transition from pre-sales to implementation, ensuring technical continuity
Participate in training delivery and knowledge transfer workshops
Provide hands-on technical support during critical project phases when needed
Act as a trusted technical advisor post-sale to strengthen relationships and identify expansion opportunities
Expected Professional Competencies:
Communication: Fluent English (written and spoken). Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Client-Facing Skills: Proven ability to build trust, ask probing questions, and guide clients through structured evaluation processes

Required Professional Experience:
5+ years of data analytics or business intelligence consulting
Pre-sales or sales engineering experience in enterprise software
Experience delivering POCs and technical evaluations
Remote work experience and self-directed work habits
Required Certifications:
Alteryx Designer Core Certification
Alteryx Designer Advanced Certification
Alteryx Server Administration Certification
Alteryx Server Implementation Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Remote work experience strongly preferred
Python or R programming experience
SQL and database design knowledge
Cloud data platform experience (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery)
Power BI, Tableau, or other BI/visualization platforms
