Planning Business Manager
The Community You Will Join:
You will become a key member of the Global Operations Community Support Planning team, responsible for driving the end-to-end roadmap planning process for Community Support at Airbnb. Our team ensures that initiatives and programs are prioritized to align with our overarching strategy and our commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience. We are a global team with expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and organizational effectiveness.

As a Planning Business Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success and satisfaction of our customers through strong relationship management and strategic collaboration. You will serve as the primary point of contact for your main stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, alignment of objectives, and successful prioritization of initiatives. You will proactively identify opportunities to add value while addressing potential challenges, always striving to deliver measurable impact for our customers and the business.
Your ability to develop and nurture relationships, coupled with your strategic mindset and client-first approach, will help drive long-term partnerships and contribute to the growth and success of both our customers and the organization.
A Typical Day:
Engage proactively with cross-functional partners and stakeholders by maintaining regular check-ins, communication of planning timelines and upcoming milestones, and feedback sessions to develop trust and ensure alignment with their goals and objectives
Develop a multi-year, strategic roadmap for the Community Support organization that aligns with and ensures successful delivery of both the organization’s priorities and Airbnb's growth and business goals
Build trusted advisor and strategic thought partner relationships with stakeholders and partners to demonstrate a deep understanding of their business and overall strategy
Proactively identify opportunities to more seamlessly align the Community Support planning process with the planning processes of external partners
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the impact (the “why”) of requested initiatives and work, while ensuring the outcomes and deliverables of the request emphasize the common ground in the priorities of senior leadership in both Community Support, Global Operations, and Airbnb overall
Work closely with the Shared Services organization and cross-functional partners (e.g., Global Operations, Engineering, Design, Product Marketing) to ensure smooth delivery of the roadmap and alignment with broader organizational goals
Act as the primary liaison between your main stakeholders and the Community Support organization, ensuring clear and consistent communication. Share leadership updates on planning progress, upcoming initiatives, and any changes in timelines
Your Expertise:
10+ years of experience in client relationship and stakeholder management, program and portfolio management, or consulting roles with a proven track record of success
Exceptional communication skills, verbal, written and presentation, to all levels of an organization
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, understanding of system implementation, and change management
Proficiency in virtual collaboration tools and project management best practices
Strategic thinking and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally across teams
Hands-on, working knowledge of software product development life-cycle and methodologies. Specific experience with Agile is desired
Naturally accountable and responsible: Self-starter, self-motivated, focused, and self-sufficient
Proven ability to de-escalate issues and resolve conflicts in a professional and empathetic manner
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within scope
Comfortable with shifting priorities and able to deliver solutions in a dynamic, ambiguous, and fast-paced work environment
Champion for continuous improvement
Exceptional listening skills and strong attention to detail
Travel requirements: Up to 10% of time, based on project requirements
Additional Preferred Skills:
Worked with multiple stakeholders across a variety of products, services, or industries
Ability to work with several partners in different business functions
Knowledge of preferred business groups
