The Company

Peltier is a leader in modern cold chain solutions, pioneering the world's first scalable, solid-state cooling ecosystem. They are revolutionizing a $250 billion industry with their core product, the Peltier Tote, a portable, tri-temperature unit designed for precision, compliance, and sustainability. Their mission is to strengthen the cold chain's weak links by providing IoT-connected, refrigerant-free technology that keeps products safe from fulfillment to the last mile.

The Role

We are seeking a visionary Lead IoT Software Engineer to guide the development of our next-generation IoT and enterprise software solutions. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will be instrumental in evolving Peltiers product from a 'read-only' system to a fully dynamic, two-way communication and control platform. You will own the software architecture, set the technical roadmap, and collaborate with key partners and end-users to ensure our technology integrates seamlessly into enterprise-level systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain a reliable, secure, and scalable system infrastructure that supports IoT-connected applications, ensuring robust data collection, processing, and analysis capabilities that drive operational efficiency and innovation.

  • Architect and build robust enterprise-level APIs that ensure security and scalability, enabling integration with Fortune 100 company systems such as ERP, fleet management, and warehouse management systems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify development and operational challenges and technology gaps; proposing and implementing IoT solutions that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve product quality.

  • Drive the adoption of software development best practices, including Agile methodologies, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and DevOps principles, to accelerate development cycles and enhance collaboration between development and operations teams.

  • Establish and enforce high operational standards, including the creation and monitoring of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to guarantee reliability and high availability of IoT services to customers, aligning with the company's commitment to excellence.

  • Stay abreast of emerging IoT technologies and cloud advancements, evaluating and recommending new tools and technologies that can enhance the company's IoT capabilities and operational efficiency.

  • Mentor and guide developers in mastering new technologies and methodologies, promoting skill enhancement and professional growth within the team to build a robust in-house expertise in IoT solutions.

  • Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement among the development team, ensuring adherence to best practices in software development and IoT integrations.

Qualifications / Skillset

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related.

  • Professional experience with IoT architecture and systems design

  • Expertise in one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)

  • Strong background in software development (preferably C#, Python, or TypeScript)

  • Experience with data processing, analytics, and storage

  • Understanding of network security and data protection principles

  • Familiarity with software communication protocols such as MQTT, REST, etc.

  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools.

  • Proficiency in Agile / Scrum methodologies for leading teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Certifications in cloud platforms and IoT technologies (preferred).
