How we'll deliver success:

We are seeking a People Operations Data Specialist to join our team, focusing on data accuracy and systems management within our People Team. This role is essential for maintaining accurate and efficient data, compliant systems, and management processes. The Data Specialist will serve as the front-line administrator and internal contact for the HRIS and supervises the data processing function for the People Operations Department, including entering, maintaining, auditing, and processing sensitive HRIS data.

In addition, the People Operations Data Specialist is responsible for maximizing technological capabilities to reduce manual processes, general maintenance of the HR tech stack systems including Namely, Lattice, Remote.com, preparing ad-hoc/scheduled reports, and serving as a resource for process-improvement tasks and special projects. The Data Specialist will analyze HR metrics, understand HR compliance, provide insights for strategy development, and ensure data accuracy across all systems.

Shipping & handling responsibilities:

  • Data Entry and Management: Efficiently manage data entry processes and update employee records with high attention to detail, minimizing errors.

  • HRIS Administration: Oversee HRIS (Human Resources Information System) configurations, troubleshoot system issues, and work closely with IT and HR teams for system enhancements.

  • Data Quality Audits: Conduct regular audits of HR data to identify discrepancies, ensure data integrity, and implement corrective measures when necessary.

  • Knowledge of US Labor Laws and Compliance: Possess a strong understanding of US federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as a general understanding of international HR practices and immigration, to ensure HR practices are legally compliant and aligned with best practices.

  • Reporting and Metrics: Generate and analyze HR reports and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making and provide insights into workforce trends.

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with IT and other departments to understand data needs, develop best practices, and ensure data availability and usability.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing data management processes and contribute to developing solutions that improve data efficiency and accuracy.

  • Handle Confidential Information: Maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive employee data, handling information with integrity and trustworthiness.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in HR data management or a similar role, with a strong focus on data accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing and auditing HR data.

  • Ability to identify and resolve data issues quickly and effectively, working independently or in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

  • Prior experience in an HR role working with US compliance and labor laws

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively share data insights and support other HR team members.

  • Nice to Haves:

  • Advanced data analysis and reporting skills, with proficiency in tools like Excel, Looker, or Tableau to interpret HR metrics and generate actionable insights.

  • Strong working knowledge of HRIS platforms (Lever, Namely, Lattice, Remote.com) and the ability to configure, troubleshoot, and optimize these systems.

  • Knowledge and experience working with both US and International HR and employment and immigration practices.

$70,000 - $95,000 a year

Our Compensation Shippolicy:

We believe compensation is a custom experience and are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The standard base pay range for this role is min $70,000 to a max $95,000 annual salary. We tend to anchor our pay in the middle of this range with most offers that we make. Since we are focused on hiring Shippos Everywhere, we have 2 US pay ranges,  a standard compensation range for the majority of the US and a standard +1 compensation range for those who live in areas where the cost of labor is higher, such as NYC and California.

The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: financial budgets, work experience, training, transferable skills, business needs, and market value. The base pay salary ranges are subject to change and may be modified in the future. Total compensation for this role will include, equity, medical, dental, vision and other benefits noted in our Shippos “package” section.
