Payroll Lead

CoWorx Staffing has an immediate need for a Payroll Lead. This is a fully remote, work from home position.

The Payroll Lead will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate issuance of payroll. This includes overseeing the calculation of gross to net pay, withholdings, and other related payments. Candidates will also be responsible for providing customer service and answer payroll-related questions from the agency's employees.

Job Duties:

• Oversees the day-to-day operations and processes associated with the payroll, payroll tax and wage garnishments, and the related transactions
• Ensures the accurate and timely processing of time sheets for labor reporting
• Audits payroll prior to processing
• Oversees manual checks, one time payments, garnishments, taxes and direct deposits
• Works in collaboration with HR on benefits and other deductions
• Supports accounting with closing activities related to staffing costs
• Provides supporting documentation as required for audits and agency tax returns
• Provides excellent customer services to all employees
• Prioritizes and supports the payroll team with Help Desk tickets system
• Ensures wire transfers for overseas staff
• Follows up on checks not cleared within 180 days, direct deposits, and voided checks
• Liaises with payroll vendors with regards to timekeeping and payroll related matters

Requirements:

• 5 years of payroll experience
• Experience with Ultimate Payroll Software
• Complete understanding of HR audit controls associated with SOX compliance
• Experience with Payroll system conversions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Stron g attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet goals and deadlines
