About Megaport

We’re not your typical tech company – and we don’t want to be. Megaport is the global leader in Network as a Service (NaaS), and has transformed the way businesses connect to the cloud, data centers, and each other. We’re publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and partnered with the biggest names in tech like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM, and more. Headquartered in Brisbane with a crew of over 400 people spread across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, our employees enjoy an environment that is collaborative, supportive, and (actually) fun.

Our Team Culture

We’re a team of problem solvers, pixel pushers, code slingers, and cloud fanatics. Culture is more than a poster on the wall here – collaboration beats hierarchy, curiosity fuels our growth, and everyone’s voice matters. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We work across time zones to execute on our global vision, trust each other to get things done, and never compromise our values for commercial gain. Most importantly, we place our customers at the center of everything we do.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Network Strategy, the Network Procurement Officer supports the sourcing of infrastructure, colocation services, network and internet services. The role ensures Megaport delivers a high-performing, scalable, and commercially efficient network with accurate inventory, strong cost controls, and effective commercial oversight.

You will engage with Data Centre Operators, Network suppliers, partners and collaborate with internal teams, including Network Engineering, Finance/Commercial Desk, Sales, and Operations teams, to ensure our infrastructure strategy is robust, innovative, and aligned with business goals.

Key responsibilities include managing vendor relations, ensuring compliance with third-party agreements, assisting with special projects, and providing recommendations to senior stakeholders. By balancing optimal network design with cost efficiency, you will help drive savings while enabling Megaport’s global expansion.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You will regularly engage with network operators in the Asia-Pacific (APAC/ANZ) region and support the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) and North America (NAM) regions as part of a team.

  • Lead the analysis and preparation of business cases to support network expansion initiatives.

  • You will assist in negotiating and managing agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms.

  • Contribute to the development of the annual cost of goods sold (COGS) budget.

  • Collaborate with Finance to prepare monthly COGS reporting, including value-added commentary.

  • Provide monthly reporting on key performance indicators relating to network costs.

  • Engage with Network Engineering and Operations teams to develop and support network strategies and improvements.

  • Identify and support initiatives that improve the performance, scalability, and commercial efficiency of the network.

  • Assist with the negotiation and administration of supplier agreements.

  • Maintain accurate procurement and vendor records.

  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as directed by management.

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in procurement, vendor management, or business development within telecommunications or a related field.

  • Experience managing contracts and suppliers, ideally across multiple vendors and regions (APAC, EMEA, NAM).Commercial understanding of network transport, internet transit, and data centre services.

  • Familiarity with networking concepts and technologies (e.g. OSI model) preferred.

  • Confidence reviewing contractual terms and engaging with suppliers on commercial discussions.

  • Strong analytical and financial skills, with experience in budgeting or cost analysis.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks, demonstrating strong self-motivation and effective time management, particularly when working remotely or across different time zones.

What We Offer

  • Flexible working environment – a remote-first culture with coworking options available

  • Generous leave plans – including 4 weeks of paid annual leave, parental leave, birthday leave, and a purchased annual leave program

  • Comprehensive learning support – generous study and training allowance plus 5 days of paid study leave

  • Creative, modern workspaces – designed to inspire when you're not working remotely

  • Motivated, inclusive team – work alongside industry experts and fresh talent

  • Recognition programs – celebrate achievements with our Legend and Kudos awards

  • For U.S. employees – access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus a 401(k) plan
