Position Overview: Mentors are industry professionals who provide world-class technical support to our learners in their Nanodegree journey. All our mentors are handpicked through a rigorous selection process so that we can truly be #studentfirst.  As a mentor, you will be meeting virtually on a weekly basis with your students for community support, live office hours and other activities.  Required skills/qualifications:

  • Fluency in English both written and spoken

  • Eligibility Requirements: Mentors must have at least 7 years of industry experience or a master’s degree in the relevant field.

  • Technical competence: Swift Programming Language (including advanced topics like Protocols, Generics, and Error Handling), SwiftUI for building modern, declarative iOS user interfaces, SwiftData and/or Core Data for robust data persistence and state management, iOS Networking, Concurrency, and Application Authentication protocols, Xcode environment and the complete iOS application lifecycle.

  • Graduate from a Udacity Nanodegree Program is a added plus

  • Experience teaching technical concepts and public speaking, organizing technical talks, or webinars

  • Positive character, trusted by the students, creating emotional ties in the group

  • Flexibility at their current job to take this challenge part-time as an external contractor

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for students over an online community forum

  • Answer questions around course content over the forum and facilitate content for students who get stuck in learning

  • Host one weekly live virtual session to offer direct, real-time support to students.

  • Redirect learners to appropriate support channels and escalate issues to the Mentor Operations team when needed
