THE ROLE:
Join the Genius team helping sportsbooks level up with live data, expert services, and fan-first experiences that drive global engagement.
As a Match Lead, you will play a central role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of Genius Sports’ live football data operations. You will oversee live match tracking by monitoring software output, confirming key in-game events such as dead-balls and stoppage time, and ensuring player and team identification is precise.
In this role, you will lead a team of Operators during 1–2 football games per shift, maintain strong communication with Operations Managers, and contribute to continuous improvements through post-game feedback and data-marking tasks. This position requires high attention to detail, strong decision-making under pressure, and the ability to work flexibly across football schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Experience leading or training others in a fast-paced environment
Strong ability to summarise information, create reports, and present findings effectively
High attention to detail with the ability to stay focused during live, fast-moving events
Excellent punctuality, reliability, and communication skills - especially under pressure
Strong proficiency with Google or Microsoft tools (e.g., Excel/Google Sheets)
A passion for football and an understanding of fundamental football terminology
Ability to give constructive feedback and collaborate effectively with both Operators and remote colleagues
IT WILL BE A BONUS IF YOU KNOW:
Making time-critical decisions in live data or engineering support environments
Working with definitional sports markings or advanced sports data concepts
The current landscape and recent history of major professional football leagues
